Ticket is reporting that Cliff Robinson will go to Detroit for Jud Buechler and John Wallace. What the hell are the Suns thinkning?
BskBALL also mentioned a possible Googs for Van Horn swap, though that doesn't make much sense since Marbury doesn't like Van Horn much either. Either way, looks like the Suns are blowing things up..if they're stupid enough to entertain offers for Marion, I hope the Mavs try to pull a fast one on 'em.

I'm all for anything that makes the West weaker. What the Suns are doing, I have no idea. But it helps the Mavs so I'm all for it.

DJ, Jerry Colangelo (sp) said he plans to build the team around Marbury, Marion and Big Jake. He said that other players will be involved in the Kidd-Marbury swap to make things work but that those 2 are the key.
I wouldn't believe the Van Horn-Googs swap--that just doesn't make any sense given the relationship between Marbury and Van Horn. But hell, what were they thinking of ridding Kidd in the first place?

looks like the fire sale in phoenix is officially underway...
reports of a suns-pistons deal: jud beuchler and john wallace for cliff robinson.
all i can say is, huh? this'll give both marion and rogers more shots, and if googs is healthy, him, too. but i think cliff is worth more than that...

wow, is phoenix gonna suck or what. What the hell are they doing?? John Wallace?? Jud Buechler?? Damn, I wish we would of kept Wallace last summer. Cliffie is not a bad player...we could of gotten him for Wallace and Bryant or Ekezie.

I don't think they're going to suck, but they won't be what they were this year. I don't understand that team. Collangelo was on the radio lastnight talking saying he feels Marbury is the player that will put them over the top and advance them further in the playoffs. The funny thing is the LAST THREE YEARS, what that team has been missing is someone to play in the middle. They thought Longley was the answer and was WRONG, but they STILL haven't addressed that. They addressed their point guard situation except they had arguably the best one in the NBA. They addressed the small forward situation, but they were getting production out of that situation with Robinson. They actually put themselves in not so good of a position.

I don't think the Suns will suck either but they certainly haven't helped themselves yet. I guess we can expect some more trades cause they have done nothing that makes sense to me.

Suns' Robinson Dealt to Pistons
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
UBURN HILLS, Mich., June 29 — The Detroit Pistons acquired forward Clifford Robinson from the Phoenix Suns today for Jud Buechler and John Wallace.
The teams agreed to the trade in principle, but the deal cannot be consummated until July 18 because of salary-cap restrictions.
"We are excited to bring Cliff Robinson to the Pistons," Joe Dumars, the Detroit team president, said in a statement. "He's a talented veteran player that brings playoff experience and toughness to our roster."
Robinson averaged 16.4 points last season.
The Suns made the deal a day after saying they are trading point guard Jason Kidd to the Nets for Stephon Marbury.
Buechler, a swingman, and Wallace, a forward, are both reserves. They joined the Pistons two years ago. Buechler signed as a free agent, and Wallace, a 1996 Syracuse graduate, was involved in a trade with Dallas for Christian Laettner.
Buechler averaged 3.9 points, and Wallace averaged 5.9 points and 2.1 rebounds.

You may think its Funny- but Marion has a nice game, and much upside potential. He may end up better than Mr. Finley?! Dont laugh yet...

Marion's a nice player and incredibly athletic, but I don't buy all his hype. He's never going to be a superstar... he lives somewhat off of Kidd and his one-on-one offensive game is very limited. He basically uses his quickness and athleticism to get around defenders and takes baby jumpers, and that quickness is going to fade as he gets older... I suspect he'll always be a solid, starter-level small forward, and maybe someday get into the 20 PPG range, but he'll peak at a young age and never be as dominant as he's often made out to be...
