He rebounds which is something 97% of our roster can't do.

He definitely used to as well as hustle. But he last played half a season 5 years ago. Our roster is too good for him to craxk the rotation.

Comparing career stats, Faried is better than Powell, Faried is only 2 years older than Powell

Pretty sure we were tongue in cheek about the idea. I haven't even seen where that rumor came from....something like a month ago he wanted to come back.

Kenneth Faried: Continues producing in win
producing in win
By RotoWire Staff
Feb 10, 2023
Faried supplied 12 points (6-15 FG, 0-1 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, four steals and three blocks across 39 minutes in the Capitanes' 114-113 win over Iowa on Tuesday.
Faried's richly diversified stat line underscores his dominance down low versus the Wolves. The veteran big often profiles as a men among boys at the G League level, now having posted three consecutive double-doubles and multiple blocks in three of the past four contests.
Come on Nico and Cuban, sign the man. We need rebounds against Jokic, Adams, Ayton, Zubac, Sabonis, Valanciunas, and Looney.

Our big man situation is so bad that no idea is a bad idea. Faried brings hustle, rebounds and some defense. We do not have that combination atm. But...J Kidd

Well not to pile it on, but Maxi is out tomorrow. Some fans think he is going to fix everything when we'd be lucky if he even comes back this season.
Not only that, but Maxi is overrated the same way DFS was. Just look at how DFS has fallen off with the Nets so far. But we need big man help SO badly that even a hobbled Maxi is desperately needed.
I know these are systems guys, but paying them has inherent risks.

I definitely think Maxi helps us, but that has its limitations. We need insurance but JKidd is a speed-up and has proven that all season.
I don't think he will be right this season. I get a bad feeling that this is going to linger.

Yeah I didn?t want to doom on maxi but whatever shape he?s in after the surgery, it?ll linger and he absolutely won?t be himself. Even if he was, it?s not saving this horrid defense. Idk why fans expect that he alone would. Personally was shocked he was re signed. Last years playoffs were amazing. But I believe that was the beginning of the end for peak Maxi.

Pretty clear to me we're not contenders until we shore up our defense & rebounding. Relying on Maxi coming off a major injury is a fool's errand.
That being said our number one priority by far is resigning Kyrie this offseason. That's 90% of the battle to becoming a true contender. With him in the fold long-term you have three foundational starters/ pieces: Luka, Green, and Kyrie.
This offseason I would do the following if Kyrie resigns:
-let Frank and Morris walk
-resign Powell, Pinson, Holiday, Wright, and Lawson to minimum deals (or let them walk if they don't want to take that)
-continue to shop around McGee, Bertans, THJ... Bertans is essentially an expiring deal and THJ's salary decreases significantly, so I wouldn't attach picks to get rid of them
-try your best to S&T Wood, otherwise let him walk
-hand out the taxpayer MLE to Nerlens Noel, Brook Lopez, etc.
-utilize future picks to upgrade wings
If Kyrie doesn't resign we're f*cked. No other way to say it. Unless he agrees to a S&T that brings in a trove of assets.
