That would cost you Green as well.
And they'd still say no.

Oh and so much for that Kyrie is sure to stay report...

I trust Woj and Stein more, obviously, but we all know how our free agencies go.

Pels looking for a mobile center and have Valencuinus on the block. Trade them Wood or preferrably the Bullock/McGee combo for 1 year of Valencinus and his 15 mil deal. I like the idea of Mavs trending toward playing faster though but Valenciunus is a good center and rebounds and is respectable from 3. Just big and slow.

3/60 Vuc back to Chicago. Kinda a bargain in today's CBA.

Honestly wouldn't be opposed to that - but who could we reasonably trade him for?

Plot twist: Kyrie walks but Hardy is the GOAT next year and makes Lillard look tame. Mavs have room for a max slot.

Twitter going nuts right now
People think Bullock will be waived
Miles Turner liking Mavs posts about us needing a center
Rumors abound that KAT is coming to DAL or PHX
Kyrie buddy Taurean Prince got waived by Minnie. Now he?s liking all Mavs posts.
Crazy and still 2 days until we can officially talk to outside guys

I don't get the Prince stuff. Last thing we need is another guy that can't rebound.

All that being said, we do need to brace ourselves for the possibility he does leave. It will be a major setback in the short run, but turn out might be a blessing in disguise a year or two down the road.

Sure they could do that
And if they end up missing the playoffs watch Luka walk his ass right out door.

Adrian Wojnarowski
@wojespn
The Clippers aren?t guaranteeing guard Eric Gordon?s $21 million contract and he?ll become a free agent, sources tell ESPN. Gordon has averaged 16 points on 37 percent three-point shooting in his 15-year career.

Marc Stein
@TheSteinLine
Reggie Bullock's contract with the Mavericks for next season will be fully guaranteed at midnight at $10.5 million, league sources say.
That figure would have dropped to $5.5 million had Dallas waived Bullock before today's deadline.

I mean, it seems like a no-brainer to keep Reggie esp for trade purposes.

I hope we stay away from Ayton. Trying to keep him motivated is too much to mess with. Peak performance Ayton would be great, but I'm so tired of not getting enough from big men. It would drive me crazy if he came here and didn't become the absolute best version he could be. I'd rather roll with Holmes and Lively.

Reggie has burned me beyond hope. I'm not even wasting any hope that he gets traded which seems like the only logical reason we didn't waive and save. Swell guy and all but when you're a 3&D guy and you don't 3 and don't D...you got jack shit.

I wanna move on from most of the roster, but until we have replacements, welp...
That's why I'm not totally and complete opposed to Ayton. 1. It helps big time with rebounding which still hasn't been addressed. 2. Center, position of need. 3. We get rid of THJ.
Like, would you rather have Ayton or Powell start? Because we all know what's gonna happen if we don't get a starting center...

Looks like Andre Drummond is our stop gap center per Stein.
Mavs really can't close the deal on a legit big man huh?

Draft night had me thinking optimistic for FA, of course the Mavs would end up with someone like Drummond.

Well at least Drummond should fix out rebounding problems. Not sure he does much else though. Stein says McGee is also out of Dallas? plans.

Sounds like we got Drummond at Min or BAE
Not a bad stop gap as Lively gets experience

Rumors are we are aggressively trying to dump McGee
Drummond/Lively/Kleber is our center spot? Not a top rotation but okay

For anyone complaining about Drummond, the FA market for big men is pretty barren at the moment. You could do a lot worse than Drummond for a cheap stopgap. I'm hoping we can pull off a trade for a significant upgrade, but I'm not holding my breath. Teams aren't just going to give the Mavs a quality center out of kindness. They're almost certainly going to want Hardy or Green and/or FRP. Nobody is chomping at the bit for THJ and filler.

Yeah the FA class like the draft class is BAD
Some decent centers available in trade but we have more needs to fill (backup 1, starting/stopgap 4, etc) so we?re going to go light on center with Lively getting some extra burn so we have the MLE and trades to address the rest

Holmes not going to get burn as a center for us? or does he slot as a PF?
can we realistically run a line up with Luka/Kyrie/Green/Hardy + big? Luka might have to be guard a big in that line up

Oops! Forgot him. His size is limiting at 6?8? but he can be a smallball center in stretches if he?s not dealt (lots of rumors we?re trying to flip him) and he can play some four next to Lively/Maxi to help the rebounding.
That lineup is okay too. The only issue is Hardy. Small sample size but kyrie was our best PG defender. Luka is PG but he often matched up with the opposing SF/PF and Green defended SG/SF as well as anyone. The big issue would be rebounding. Kyrie and Luka were good but we?d need some decent contributions from center unless both teams just make everything and there aren?t boards to go around

I mean, Drummond is shockingly only 29 and yes, will help with rebounding. But 12 mpg on a Bulls team that couldn't defend isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
As a stop gap center, it works. Just hope Lively plays better sooner vs later. At least the sooner part means you don't have max contract Ayton in the way.

I mean, unfortunately we can only do so much in one offseason. As you said earlier, we pretty much have to overhaul the entire roster. No matter how aggressive Nico is, chances are we're going to go into next season with at least one of those holes still there.

I mean I'm sure he'll meet with them, but unless he decides he just doesn't care about money anymore and is going to play for the min, there's no way. They're deep into the luxury tax.
