Ha! Why?
It?s not like the Suns have cap space. They can?t sign him. Mavs are hard against SnT.
I guess they want a desperate plea for Kyrie to demand a SNT only to the Suns. Then we get stuck with Beal or Ayton and change?

Yeah, the Suns thing is a smokescreen. Even if they unloaded Ayton, it makes no sense. Don't even see that as a leverage play.

That's why I'm not totally and complete opposed to Ayton. 1. It helps big time with rebounding which still hasn't been addressed. 2. Center, position of need. 3. We get rid of THJ.
Like, would you rather have Ayton or Powell start? Because we all know what's gonna happen if we don't get a starting center...
|
Obviously not Powell. I think healthy Holmes would start. I'm waiting to see what Kyrie does but if he's back. I'm fine with letting Holmes and Lively get their shot.
I'm more focused on getting a wing like Brown, who is an up and coming 2 way player that we need than center as of today. This may change in the near future though.

I know he wants to create leverage and see what options are out there, but talking to Phoenix won?t create much leverage lol. They?re so deep in luxury tax and we?re getting Drummond supposedly.

Stein: Dallas's interest in Drummond is dependent on a trade that has not come to fruition.
Adds that Drummond has to opt out as well.
So I'm guessing if Drummond opts in, then the Mavs might have a trade on hand.
Which means Ayton or Drummond. Still have my money on the Ayton trade going through.

I like a C rotation of Holmes Drummond Lively.
Shot blocking with Lively
Rebounding with Drummond
Holmes, good screens and soft touch
All of them are lob threats & provide vertical spacing

Maybe it?s Mavs trying to trade McGee first?

They're probably trying to get off of McGee's contract

So the trade would be instead of getting Drummond as I understand it.
Meaning, trade for big, don't sign Drummond?

Drummond opts in to stay with Bulls.
Well that was fun to think about for half a day.

Lakers waive Mo Bamba. I mean, if it mean't no Powell I'd take a flyer, but can the guy be any good for the Lakers to not want him?

I'd try him for a min contract but I doubt if there's much there. But he's only 25 years old

BREAKING: 76ers G James Harden is picking up his $35.6 million option and sides are beginning to work together in exploring trade scenarios, sources tell ESPN. It?s expected that Harden has played his last game for Philadelphia.

I don?t see why Houston would want him. You?re rebuilding, so why bring in a 34 year old guy who forced his way out of town? If you?re Harden and you want to go back to Houston clearly you aren?t interested in winning a ring.

I like Plumlee at center for the BAE. The leftover Trade Excpetion from the draft day should enough to get Drummond if the Bulls don't want him. I think Bamba would be fine if he quit getting hurt. Dallas for the min and 1 year could be good prove it spot or for BAE maybe. Can they do 1 year with BAE.
I think the Wiz might be only team to take McGee. Add 1st round pick in 27 and more salary for maybe Kuzma at 25 mil? Still, I trust Hunter from Atlanat or H. Barnes or PJ Washington or Miles Bridges more defensively and they all can provide some offense for less money. Might more difficult to acquire those players unless Kuzma just doesn't want to go to Mavs.
I wonder what Wood is getting for offers.
Surprised that Blazers aren't in on ayton. Maybe it is coming. They have Nurkic and some SnT candidates that you'd think the Suns might like.

I guess Harden wasn't going to get some big bag.
And talk about a guy who has 0 loyalty. I get it's a business, but I thought Morey was his bro? Guess not...
Karma for the way Morey treats players as well.

I don't think Houston has enough contracts to make that trade. They'd have to trade 4 or 5 players

Houston also rumored to be signing VanVleet. If so, then no need for Harden.

Harden to Phoenix for Ayton. Ayton and Embiid both start for the Sixers... I seriously doubt it but the Suns/Ayton seem to be part of every rumor so why not start another one.

Well the Drummond thing was weird and perhaps a rare misfire from Stein. Not really sure it was relevant before knowing if he opted in or not.
And it's best to take long deep breaths knowing the Mavs won't do jack shit for free agency.
And now rumors of the Heat going for Kyrie. Teehee.

Ha! Imagine the bait and switch if Kyrie goes to Phoenix and signs a contract with us just to Harden it and then we straight up flip him for KAT.
Kidding! Only a few things would make me rethink being a Mavs fan and trading for Harden or KAT are two.

Mavs Twitter has gone from ?cool! Resign Kyrie and fill out a couple of decent pieces?
To
?Oh god! Kyrie is going to leave and everything is on fire?

Regardless how quirky or pseudo intellectual ignorant Kyrie is, that doesn?t equate to him turning down 40-50m per year contract. Let?s be real

People be dumb then.
Kyrie literally cannot go to the Suns unless he?s taking the minimum.
He?s a free agent which means he can
1) sign with us for anything up to the max
Or
2) sign with them for the minimum
The second apron means they cant get a sign and trade.
That?s it. Suns don?t even have exceptions to use.
That 12 mill? That?s MLE for a team not paying tax. The tax starts at 165. They are at 216. They aren?t getting a full MLE.
