My only hope is that the complete failure of our frontcourt forces a trade, gets Kidd fired, or both

This is so embarrassing. At least Hardy is playing well enough to trade THJ.

this team is painful to watch. one good game, then 2-3 awful games. I thought Cavs game should be the worst one, this one make you speechless

All coaches want to be known for an invention.
Phil Jackson has the triangle
Dantoni has the 10 second possession
Kidd has the slowout? which is a blowout in slow motion where we just decide that vibes matter and if the vibes are off, we just play like shit and the game is decided before we even get to the end of the first minute

I?m sorry. I know we don?t have the guys but being -15 on the boards is about effort and about coaching. It?s inexcusable
After tonight we?ll drop from 28th in rebounding to 29th. Only the Wizards are more pathetic.

It won?t fix the Mavs total lack of big guys.
It?ll feel good though. Kidd deserved to be fired last season. I can?t believe he?s still coaching. He has no professionalism. No play calling. No responsibility. Worst of all, he just shrugs and blames players or lashed out at media. Dude has yet to take one scrap of responsibility

Crazy thing is that Minny just changed the NBA and the twin tower system is the new norm.
All these teams with ?excess? bigs who are begging us for THJ and Powell are now just going to keep both and pack the paint because it works. Just yesterday people were saying Jazz would give us Markannen. Dude just made Luka his step child tonight.
Jazz are case in point of what size and length can do.
There?s not only a huge buyers market for bigs? now teams want 3-5 bigs.
Not a good time for the Mavs to have one and he?s years away from producing consistently.

Kidd HAS to go. Period. Everyone has run out of words to describe how much he sucks. Mark Cuban is a fucking idiot.
THJ is utter garbage. Idgaf if he can hit a few shots here and there. The 6th man of the year bit is a joke. He cant defend to save his life and tonight is the perfect example of how inefectove he can be and it can last for weeks. That dumbass turnover he had where he was 1 handing the ball up top acting cute and turned it over was sickening
When Luka launched and missed 5 threes in a row, you knew the game was over. He may be sore but id rather see him sit than watxh that.
Such a dud after a great win vs GS. But thata what we do

Mavs were 22-16 on Jan 2 of last year. We're 19-15 now...

Its hard to measure hustle and effort in wins (especially vs last year because we had the same types of losses) but I feel like 3, maybe 4 of this years losses were based on low energy and packing it in when everything isnt going well. We have had tough schedule games and some injuries for sure.
It clearly starts up top. I know coaches don't want to berate the team on the floor in front of thousands of people but cmon man, these are humans, they need motivation and consequences. A few of our guys keep rolling out piss poor effort duds and what ever happens?? Kidd coaches like he know Mark Cuban isnt going to do a damn thing about it. What tf is ever going to be done? You can insert a solid starting 4 or a back up big and nothing is going to change. You can replace DJJ with a top 5 PF and it wont matter because when Luka takes a shit or THJ does what ever the fuck thst was last night, no one steps up and holds anyone accountable.

Every season is always just shit with this team. If they had gotten a fucking center this summer, then we'd be fine. Nope.

Idk why this org thought they could get thru the season with a 19 year old rookie holding it down for 82.
Go get a fucking center. And play Holmes damnit
and now grant is hurt. Portland is so fn reckless.

Portland playing out of control here. No more Luka or Kyrie tonight. Can?t afford to lose them if they want any chance at the playoffs.

Coulda drafted TJD, but nope, people are weird about the draft and always lead by perception that a player can't be drafted at a certain spot. Smart fans knew.
I woulda drafted him over Omax all day, every day.

We didn't have a second-round pick, did we?
edit: you were talking with OMax's FRP

Hardy cannot hold onto the ball when he drives.
But man he?d be a solid spot up shooter.

Honestly think Hardy is just a younger version of THJ. They are both black holes that can score in bunches.

Kidd said both sprains are mild. Still need a backup center.

To me Hardy is Devante Graham 2.0 and will have a similar career.

Id lean more toward this than THJ. Hardy has much better handles. If he ends up somewhere he can actually get minutes and gets traction he will be solid. If he doesnt improve defensively, he probably wont be more than a 6th man. I could see his potential around Jordan Clarkson level.

My point is that they both can't be relied upon with their up and down shooting. But I still feel we can move THJ because then we have another not reliable but can still put up points shooter on the roster.
Tim isn't a player I'd think twice about trading.

Hardy reminds me of how lots of Mavs fans perceived Courtney Alexander back in the day. Dude was supposed to be the next Jordan here in Dallas but barely moved the needle in his NBA career.

What about Kai Jones?
Charlotte released him because he was obviously dealing with drug issues. But we are desperate. And he's young. Solid low risk high reward

Omax to the g league. Strange move if Lively is going to be out.
Still, kid is feeling like a bust so far. Need a coach that will actually develop and play him or move him.

A bust after 35 games of Kidd bouncing him in and out of the lineup? He looked solid last night against a bad team but he is super active.

Yeah dude has had a quick upward growth curve. He came in looking scared, but when given time, he produces. 5-5-1 last night in limited minutes.
He needs to settle his jumper in, but it's hard to be consistent when:
1) rookie year when you think top effort means playing fast and
2) not getting consistent minutes with starters. Often his minutes are with Lawson or Hardy as PG so it's the weird anarchic scramble of trash minutes
I'm sad that he's not a year-one (or at least a first 1/2 of rookie year) contributor but h is growth tells me it's way premature to call him a bust.

Prosper was compared to Aminu by some and that is exactly the type of player we need right now.
I definitely don't think he is a bust, but the ship has sailed on any chance of him having any impact this season. He'll probably be a throw-in on some deal for a role player by the end of the season.
If he would have gotten meaningful minutes early on, he might have developed into a useful piece to use come PO time.

O-Max needs to spend the entire offseason working on his jump shot. If he can hit consistently I think he will be fine.

Lively and Williams are both questionable which is kinda shocking. I'd play it safe and let them rest.

Well each time he gets hurt can make him more timid, so they need to get someone to ease his role.
