Default NJDEVILS- The new stanley cup champions

NJ Devils win it 3-0 and are the new stanley cup champions. Stars missed a golden opportunity as the mavs did.

At least someone beat the Ducks. That's really all I asked of this sport after the Stars went out.

Here's a "fun" fact:
Jamie Langerbruner, who you'll remember we sent to NJ for Jason Arnott, scored 11 goals in the postseason, just one short of Pierre Turgeon's production FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON. Luckily, next year we're paying him $7.5mil.

Thank GOD the purple hatted comic book characters didn't win the Cup. Stability has returned to the world of Hockey.

Ain't that the damn truth. I thought the Stars would go farther than the Mavs. That's what I get for thinking.

If Dirk had only been healthy......... *sigh*

I hate the Cinderella team phenomenon in hockey. Anaheim will now return to earth. I doubt they'll be as bad as this yr's Carolina, but they know they've lost their one real chance.

You can almost say the same about the Stars as the Mavs. What if we'd had the real Bill Guerin (not post-scary-thigh-injury, cautious, non-hitting, non-shooting Bill Guerin)? What if we'd had Jason Arnott minus the bad back? What if Pierre Turgeon wasn't a selfish, worthless spare??

Anyway, anyone think NJ can get the double championship?

no, I don't think they can get the double championship, and i really hope they don't. i will be even more jealous if that happens. it makes me mad because the fans in new jersey don't deserve it at all.
