six-year, $42M is a good offer. I wonder if the Clips will match.

I think thats pretty good news for Mavs fans. If things like this keep happening Spurs are going to start looking like us and they actually have cap space. But they are champs so......

Why would they need another 3 with Melo. Do they plan to sit him his rookie season and then trade Maggette after that

I thought Melo was a two who could play the three. Sorta like Finley.

He might play 2, but he played a 3 for Syracuse.

I'm sure Maggette will play 2 , Kiki's gonna have a nice young team over there in Denver if Maggette joins. He just needs a Point Guard and another PF and they'll be somewhat fun to watch next year.

If they don't get a pg like a Arenas or a Andre Miller there future is going to be on hold unless they sign a free agent pg or draft one.

I love what Kiki is doing in Denver. He's putting together a nice young team that's going to give teams fits in a couple years.

I doubt the Clippers match.

I would think Denver would go after Arenas if they're still interested in Olowokandi as well. Surely they wouldn't try to take 3 Clippers? Does Denver have enough to sign Arenas and Olowokandi?

If not, I can see them signing Olowokandi and trying to pick up someone like Speedy Claxton.

It's hard for me to pass up on Arenas especially for Kandi. I haven't seen him play this season but he is being compared to a Shawn Bradley. HE is very inconsistent like him. I don't think I would take him over a Arenas. Well being a rival I guess I would prefer them get Kandi over Arenas.

Great move by kiki. I thought I read somewhere though that the Clips would match up to 8 mil per year. We shall see. Denver is going to be tough very soon.

If it came down to Kandi and Arenas, they would pick Arenas, not only is he more talented in productive. They had an undrafted rookie playing point for them. They need a pg more then a center.

Arenas turned down the Nuggets offer and they moved on to the next guy. They are going to offer Andre Miller a contract and have the signed offer sheet on Maggette and still have cap room to spare.

Maggette's agent denying that he accepted Denver's offer.

Report of Maggette deal not true
By Marc J. Spears, Denver Post Sports Writer
The agent for Los Angeles Clippers free-agent swingman Corey Maggette told The Denver Post that an ESPN.com report stating that his client had accepted a six-year contract with the Nuggets was not true. Although he also said Maggette is still interested in the Nuggets, agent Rob Pelinka said his client is getting interest from other clubs and could meet with another team before the signing date arrives Wednesday.

"We're still in just discussions at this point," Pelinka said about the Nuggets. "We've had some productive conversations where they've expressed interest. But Corey still has his options."

Maggette has already visited Denver and recently said the Nuggets were one of his top options. Among the teams interested in the 6-foot-6, 228-pounder are the Utah Jazz and the Clippers, who hired coach Mike Dunleavy Sr., on Friday. The Nuggets have $18 million available to use in free agency, and Maggette seems to be atop their list of shooting guard prospects. If the Nuggets sign Maggette to an offer sheet, the Clippers would have 15 days to potentially match it since he is a restricted free agent.

Kiki is going to sign Miller. Miller was repotedly asking for 6-7 million a year! and they got 18 million cap space.
