Has anyone other than Ummmmm Ok and myself read this book?

I have to admit that I was HUGELY disappointed. The Goblet of Fire was SOOO much better.

i read it the day it came out...got it at midnight and read until i fell asleep, then finished it when i woke up.

i wasn't hugely disappointed, but it definitely wasn't my favorite book in the series so far.

I just didn't like how Harry was portrayed. He was a whiney brat, always complaining about something. I guess the author was trying to age the character realisticly (Harry was 15 in the book) but then why were his friends basically unchanged from book 4? They were WAY nicer to him than Harry deserved.

well, ron has had his whiny brat stage before when he gets jealous of harry, so maybe he just got over it and grew out of it faster. and as for hermione...well, girls are never whiny brats. duh.

but, yeah, it wasn't as fun to see harry get all whiny because he has been such a great guy in the other books. then again, it was more true to life with him not being as perfect all the time.

I thought it was great. Best written of the five; but the slowest pace of the five. My complaint was that there was the sheer amount of anguish at school. Full chapters about how school just sucks and not really advancing toward the plot.

Default Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I thought it was pretty good. I agree with Dobby that it seemed to drag on in parts, but overall it was about what I expected. I guess reading it to the kids made it more enjoyable to me though.
