Default Goodrich going to prison

jury just gave him 7 1/2 years in prison....no freaking probation in this case!!

Props to that Jury !! He was also fined to the tune of $20,000.00

If I would've done that I would be doing at least 20 years, but since he has some money and I guess a little fame he gets less than the normal person.

I'm glad to see the jury didn't buckle. I'm not surprised at the years either. The heavier sentences are usually reserved for chronic offenders and those cases where premeditation is involved.

Dallas_esq...I'd have to look t the sentencing document itself to give you a precise answer...but somewhere around 2 1/2 - 3 years wouldn't be unusual....quite long enough to get his head on right...but far short of what I would have given him.

His defense attorney, Reed Prospere, is a good friend of mine...we were in the DA's office at the same time...so don't underestimate what his defense lawyers did for him...had this been a guy with a public defender...he would have gotten the max...

AT one point, when his mother was testifying, they reported that some on the jury were crying...while some may have read this as the jury being sympathetic to him...I read it another way...I think that the jury was convinced, at that time, that he was guilty...and knew that they were going to send him away...thus breaking his mother's heart. That's how this former prosecutor read it.

He will probably do 3-4 years, most likely before seeing parole. I think this was definitely fair, and a good punishment as well. I did not want him getting off easy with probation and he didnt, which is good.
