Mavericks Add Charlie Bell
I seem to remember reading good things about him. He might even be in uniform tonight.

I was too, to be honest. The revolving door of 3rd string PG's is just a lame attempt to keep from paying someone guaranteed money. You think Bell is going to get any PT? Hell no. We've got a front line with more holes in it than a Miami-Dade County presidential ballot, but Harvey can't get off the IR, and it took Eddie 1/4 of a season to get a shot. We've got Nash and Timmy at the point, that's about as solid a 1-2 punch as you can get at point, so he SHO ain't gettin' in. Bell is just here to be Wang's personal rebound boy or something.
More practically, he is cheap guard insurance in the event that Buck/Griff leaves in a trade, I think.

Flint, Michigan native Charlie Bell was one of the cornerstones of the Michigan State national championship of a couple of years ago... I saw an awful lot of him during his collegiate career and he seemed to me to be a very good three point shooter. He was an adequete defender and ball handler too... not much of a playmaker though, and he never seemed all that quick...

I'm with Rhylan on this one....YAWN....
Not sure what the Mavs angle on this move is, but I'm sure it's not because they plan on giving him any PT unless were are up by gajillion bajillion points in garbage time.

Or did they?
Contract snag delays point guard's arrival
A snag in contract negotiations delayed the arrival of point guard Charlie Bell to the Mavericks – at least temporarily, if not altogether.
Bell signed a contract with Fabriano Basket, a team in Italy's top league, just before committing to play for the Mavericks on Wednesday. Because the NBA recognizes all FIBA contracts (FIBA is basketball's international governing body), Bell has to secure his release from his Italian contract before he can sign with Dallas.

Well, it's official. I wonder if he'll see anytime tonight?
Dallas signs PG Charlie Bell to 10-day contract
January 12, 2002
DALLAS (AP) -- The Dallas Mavericks signed point guard Charlie Bell to a 10-day contract before Saturday night's game against the Indiana Pacers.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound rookie out of Michigan State averaged 1.6 points in five games for the Phoenix Suns this season before he was waived Dec. 11.
Bell was in uniform for Saturday night's game.
