Mavs New Comic Book Out Nov. 1
DALLAS (October 30, 2003) - The Dallas Mavericks and Ultimate Sports Entertainment, Inc. announce the release of the Mavs collectible Comic Book series Issue #2 entitled “Class Action.”
“Last year’s comic book was a smashing success, and I received a lot of e-mails from fans wanting to know when the next issue was coming out,” said Mavs owner Mark Cuban. “While it is a comic book that is meant to be fun and entertaining, this issue delivers a message to kids about the importance of staying in school.”
The second issue of the series will be available exclusively at participating Metroplex Wal-Mart stores beginning Nov. 1, while supplies last. A special "American Airlines Center Edition" will be distributed to the first 2,500 fans on November 1 when the Mavs host the Jazz at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The action-adventure comic book features Mavs owner Mark Cuban, Mavs players Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley, Steve Nash, Shawn Bradley, Eduardo Nájera, and Antawn Jamison and Head Coach Don Nelson. Mavs broadcasters Brad Davis, Bob Ortegel, Matt Pinto and Mark Followill make special cameo appearances. The Mavericks will send a “stay in school” message to their fans when they battle the villain Srekal as she is getting students to drop out of school to do her evil bidding.
