I think Nellie is trying to make sure Dirk and Nash are comfortable in their first of many All-Star games.

Bitter? Hmmm...aren't you reading into this your own thoughts about my intentions?

I believe all I implied in my comment was he is old and may be given the MVP because of his return. Ala Magic Johnson when Timmy Hardaway stepped aside for him to play in the all-star game a while back.

I would be a little more circumspect about jumping to conclusions.

Kevin Lyon's of the Ft. Worth Star Telegram commented today that Nelson will use both Nash and Nowitzki at the same time during the all-star game. And frequently.

His thought is since this is Dirk's first (no mention of this being Nash's first) he doesn't want Dirk on the floor with a strange point guard.

Now this is my projection here and nothing Lyons nor Nelson said.

But do you think Don Nellie is going to attempt to play Dirk enough to get him a shot at the MVP?

I believe it will be a sympathy vote for MJ since he will be dragging his long white beard up and down the court.

But the recognition would be wonderful for Dirk, if it were to come to pass.

nice pic...2-Deep.

I suspect that Nash has to be in with Dirk for him to have a shot at MVP.
I think that is why Nelson is not starting Dirk to begin with.
He wants to bring them in to the game together.
I was a little pissed when Nellie put in Webber as a starter instead of Dirk, but when you think it out it makes sense.

You know Jordan will be in the the running for it, but don't count out Iverson. Im sure he will put up over 20 shots in the game.

Yeah, but when only 5 of them go in, that may hurt his chances.
