Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
Works capwise. Would you do it? TMac is a stud but would you want to part with Fin.

RE:Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
Yes - I'm a huge Finley fan and I think this is a no-brainer. But if Orlando asks for Daniels in addition, do you do the deal? How about if they ask for Howard as a kicker? What if it takes both to do the deal?

Salary works the original way. You'll have to add some from Orlando with the same salary as Howard or Daniels.

RE:Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
I've said it before, with the emergence of Howard, Finley has become the most tradable Maverick (out of the big 5). Jamison could be a luxury off the bench and in so, for the sake of getting TMac, I think it's worth it, even if Hill never plays a game again.
How many years of Hill in the injury roster would we have to swallow? That is a consideration.

RE:Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
I don't think I'd do it if they wanted Howard. If it were just straight up, just Fin and AJ, I probably would, though. The opportunity to get a guy like TMac on the team, and the upgrade he represents over Finley is probably worth what we're getting out of AJ at our deepest position. What's the source of the rumor, incidentally?

On this trade board, it could be anything from a reliable source like the NBA's trade approval office to an unreliable one like hoops.com OR even from a really unreliable one like Peter Vecsey.

Trade rumors from writers rarely come to pass. Did anyone even hear that Walker was coming to Dallas before it happened. As for the trade Id do it. T-Mac is one of the best players in the league.

RE: Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
I don't think this is a rumor at all. The first I heard of it was on this board. I've since seen it mentioned on other boards after this one.
I think it made the circuit and that's the end of it. Maybe a radio station got wind of it and was debating about it.

I have seen this trade reported on other message boards and people are saying it came from ESPN Radio and The Ticket, of course, I have no way if telling that is true.

RE:Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
I would pretty much give up anything except for Dirk to get TMac on board. He's having a crappy year, but for the last couple of years he's been arguably the best guard in the game. He put up some of the best numbers of ANY player since Michael Jordan last year, something like 32/6/5. I actually think he's not as good as his numbers, but with Dirk and Steve? Damn, look out. It's well worth eating the Grant Hill contract.

Having to throw Howard in as well might cause me to nix this trade. Substitue someone else and I'd do it.

RE: Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
I dont think Tmac would fit in with us. Hed be the second or third option. Cause we all know dirk is the first and with nellies love for walker tmac might fall behind him. Tmac hated being the second option in toronto so how would he like it here. He wouldnt.

PG - Nash
SG - TMac
SF - Walker
PF - Dirk
C - FLIP A COIN

Bubkis.
This is too similar to the hypothetical trade that was being thrown around on this board last week. I think it has acheived a life of its own.

RE:Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
What I really think is that maybe ESPN and the Ticket did say there were rumors that Orlando and Dallas were talking with no specifics. naturally, people assume the trade is a blockbuster. And people threw KG's trade idea out there. And the two are now linked. The trade, if there were one, might be really small. Like Travis Best for Steve Hunter.

I would not do that trade if Howard is involved. But take him out and where do I sign up for that trade?
The Mavericks would have 2 of the top 10 players in the league and could argue that they would have 4 of the top 20 with TMac, Nash, Dirk, and Walker.

dont think you really have much of an argument for Nash.....and Walker is probably top 15-20, not top ten....

Well I didn't mean Walker in the top 10. It's obvious that TMac and Dirk are arguably 2 of the top ten players in the NBA.
The argument is how people rate Nash and Walker. Nash is most likely a top 20 player but I can find alot of people that would argue that Antione is not a top 20 player, including me...
but anyway back on topic...
I think Orlando would really think about a deal like this if they are still playing misderably come the trade deadline. The Magic would hate to have to trade Tracy but its a way to get out from under that contract albotros that is Grant Hill. Plus they add two great players in Finley and Jamison. I think the trade would help both teams tremendously. Again the key to the deal is I think Dallas, because of Cuban, is one if not the only team that would be willing to eat a contract like Grant Hill's. I don't think this trade is far fetched. But Orlando only bites if they are still tanking it come the trade deadline. They may be desperate to shake things up.

RE:Rumor of Jamison/Fin for TMac/Hill
No. Hill is washed up and T-Mac has yet to prove that he contributes what Finley does- leadership. This season doesnt prove Tmac is a poor leader, but it sure makes you wonder.
AND we'd give up Howard?
AND we'd have to give up Jamison?
AND we'd have to give up Daniels before he's hatched?

HELL NO! Not Howard, Finley, and Jamison. Two of those guys don't need to be in the deal. Not for the season T-Mac is having.
