Default Dallas/NYK trade

since everyone is proposing trades, i thought i'd throw in everyones favorite name. KT

Dallas trades:
Najera
Delk
a 2nd rounder

NYK trades:
Thomas
F. Williams

only accepted after Dec 20th. (delk is recently acquired)

why NY does: they want Delk, and ant to dump KT. they'd get a guy they want, along with a pick
why Dallas does: they add depth at PF/C, while dumping Najera's future cap hit. and with the emergence of JHO and daniels, delk is expendable.

I'm not sure NY would do this, but it'd work for Dallas

C: Thomas / fortson/ bradley
PF: dirk/ Thomas/walker
SF: Walker/AJ/JHO
SG: Fin/JHO/Daniels
PG: Nash/Best/Daniels/Williams

I'm not sure why New York would do it either, but this is a Kurt Thomas trade I could live with.

If all we're giving up is Najera and Delk, then I'd do this. I'm far from being high on Thomas but this is a very low risk trade and while Thomas isn't a fit at center, he's not as bad a fit as Eddie is.

Any trade has to include AJ or AW to work for the mavs. There are already too many players who demand som many minutes and touches. Adding someone without losing one of those two only adds to the confusion.

Not necessarily. We could do this trade with NY and do a separate trade to move another player if need be.

That is true LRB, but I must say that afro has a great point. You cant do this deal UNLESS another move is made to send Jamison/Walker away or a mess becomes a bigger mess... I think that a trade like this would REALLY help us if the assumption could be made that Jamison/Walker would be traded for a defensive specialist or draft picks!!!

No more offense!!! We need players to have specific roles, not 10 scorers!!! As good as we look on paper, no one is stepping up and saying THIS IS MY F'N TEAM, AND I AM SINGLE HANDEDLY WINNING THIS GAME FOR US TONIGHT!!! While all of the sharing is cool on some nights where everyones' shot is falling, all other bad shooting nights HAVE to cause SOMEONE to emerge to bring us out of it!!!

Just my opinion, but I think we also need a guy that - when the game is on the line - can REALLY be counted on to jump up and grab a damn rebound or stop a penetrating players layup with some damn defense!!!

Walker actually does that, you know. He is the only one who has BALLS on this team while Dirk just stands by and watches him take over the team WHEN IT'S HIS TEAM!!!!!!!!!

Not a bad trade.

But if the Mavs wanted Kurt Thomas, dont know why? last thing need is another PF. They could just sign him with the MLE.
