Default All-Time Mavericks Team?

I've always wondered who you guys think are the all-time Mavs.

Here is mine: By Position
PG - Derek Harper/ Steve Nash
SG - Rolando Blackman/ Michael Finley
SF - Mark Aguirre/ Jimmy Jackson
PF - Dirk Nowitzki/ Sam Perkins
C - Roy Tarpley/ Shawn Bradley

All-Time Mav - Blackman

You gotta have James Donaldson in there somewhere. He is the best C ever to play in Dallas afterall.

If you add James Donaldson to this Mavs squad the Mavs become the favorite to win a title. That guy was a beast.

Nash is better than Haper. Harper was a great defender and a solid player, but he never made the All-Star team.

My team:

PG - Nash/Harper
SG - Ro/Fin
SF - Aguirre/Detluf
PF - Dirk/Perkins
C - Tarpley/Donaldson

Kidd is better then Nash and Harper but not as a Mav.

All-Time Mav - Mark Aguirre

Kidd didn't even play 2 1/2 seasons with the Mavs, how could he be considered on an All Time team?

On many ocassions I have mentioned my displeasure with Brad Davis having his number retired. IMO his jersey retired is a deteriment to the organization.

He was a nice player, and that is about it.

Harper never went to an all star game. Nash is the better player

Nash
Ro
Mark Ag
Dirk
Tarpley

All time Mav is Dirk w/o question. Ro was no were near a top 5 player in the league. Were Dirk is today.

Brad Davis was a member of the first Mavericks team, and put in several good years as one of their top players. He is, in my opinion, Mr. Maverick. One could argue that Rolando Blackman is more deserving, and if Steve, Fin, or Dirk stay with the Mavs for the rest of their careers, then they obviously could overtake him, but for now, Brad is the man.

Brad Davis = a great maverick.

G - Steve Nash/Jason Kidd (too close to call)
G - Rolando Blackman
F- Mark Aguirre
F- Dirk Nowitzki
C- Roy Tarpley/James Donaldson

Only one man was "perfect" for the Mavs from the Floor : the wonderful Chucky Brown (1-1)

PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY
Snack Of Champions

Popeye has his spinach. Hakeem has his pasta. Chucky has his Peanut Butter and Jelly.

When preparing for a game, Chucky does plenty of stretches and warm-ups. He also woofs a PB&J for energy and good taste before each contest, giving him plenty of fuel to rebound, dunk, play defense, and dance on the sidelines during pre-game introductions.

Ingredients
2 tbsp. Peanut Butter
1 tbsp. Jelly
2 slices, bread

Directions
Spread Peanut Butter on one piece of bread.
Spread Jelly on top of Peanut Butter.
Carefully place the second slice of bread on top.
Serve immediately.

No John Stockton? No Karl Malone?

No Bob Lanier? No Charles Barkley? No Patrick Ewing?

Mavs All-Time: Dirk.

I liked Brad Davis. For me he was a good point guard. He wasn't spectacular but he was effective. He played well for the team and it's O.K. he has his jersey retired (it's my opinion). The only thing I complain is that I think Blackman had to have his jersey retired before him.

Default RE:All-Time Mavericks Team?

I'll make the cut-off 5 years

G: Nash
G: Blackman
F: Aguirre
F: Nowitzki
C: Donaldson

Bench:

G: Harper
G: Finley
G: Jackson
F: Tarpley
C: Bradley
G: Davis
F: Perkins

Conclusion? The Mavs aren't exactly a historic franchise and the little history they do have hasn't produced that many memorable players, at least ones that have been around that long. The 1 thru 4 spots in the starting lineup were easy enough to fill. So was the 5 spot for that matter, but it still sticks out when the greatest Center in the history of your franchise is James Donaldson. Not that he was a bad player (and I wouldn't kill for his equivalant now) but still. Harper and Finley definitely deserve to fill the Point and 2-guard spots off the bench but Aguirre, good as he was, is the only real small forward the Mavs molded out that stuck around for a little while. Tarpley was good, but he wasn't really around that long. Perkins is as good a F-C swing guy as there is off the bench, but Bradley makes the list based on nothing more than the amount of time he's spent with the franchise. Davis who was nothing special, makes the list because I already used Jackson to fill the 3 spot on the bench and there's no real Mavs G-F swingmen of particular note that were around long enough so I choose third string PG Davis based on nothing other than that he was a Mav for a long time.

Let's hoope this list is a little different 25 years later
