Outletpass Funeral Services
Dear members I'm sorry to have to bring you this extremely sad news, but Outletpass, or Bill as many of us who had the chance to know him better, passed away this past weekend. I just recieved a call from his wife this morning informing me. Bill was one of the very first members to befriend me on this site and I was privileged to know him in person and become friends outside of Dallas-Mavs.com. Bill was a true friend and one of the nicest people that I've ever known. My complete sympathies go out to his family and loved ones. Even the short time that I knew him, I know I will miss him greatly.
His funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM at Dalton's funeral home in Lewisville. Please feel free to contact me by PM or probably better at my email address LloydBass2@y ahoo.com if you have any questions.

Tell me this is not true My condolences to his family.... I've only known him since the beginning of the season. I'm truly sorry to hear this though. May he rest in peace.

I'm not really sure how to reply to this thread, so I'll just say this:
Bill was one of the first people to befriend me on this board as well. He was a good man, and I really enjoyed our PMs together. I'll miss him.

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
My condolences to his family!!! Wow, you never know when it is time go. It is especially difficult when it is someone you know, and it you just recently saw them and everything is fine then - they are suddenly gone.
This may be none of my business, and I apoligize if this is innapropriate, but had he been ill, or was he involved in an accident?

My Compagre. A real friend. I won't forget him ever, he shared part of his life with me, the most important part, his personal feelings.
My condolences to the Sock.

Oh my God...What a shock. This can't be .... (???)
Did his family have any idea...?
Yes, OP invested a lot of himself in this board, and in many people on this board. It won't be the same now.
Any word on Sock?

My condolences to his family. Ryan, the way he wrote about you, even a complete stranger could tell that you couldn't have asked for a better father. Don't mourn that he's gone, but be happy he's been here.

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
Lord Jesus Christ, king of glory,
deliver the souls of all the faithful departed
from the pains of Hell
and from the bottomless pit.
Lord Jesus Christ, king of glory,
deliver them from the jaws of the lion,
lest hell engulf them,
Lord Jesus Christ, king of glory,
Plunge them not into darkness.
Lord, in praise we offer you
sacrifices and prayers,
accept them on behalf of those
who we remember this day:
Lord, make them pass
from death to life,
as once you promised to Abraham
and to his seed.
Lord Jesus Christ, king of glory,
deliver the souls of all the faithful departed
from the pains of Hell
and from the bottomless pit:
Plunge them not into darkness.
Amen.

I am shocked and saddened by this unfortunate news. I don't know quite what to say right now, but even though I've only really met the man once, I feel like I've lost a friend.
We'll all be thinking about Bill for a long time.

My heart and prayers go out to those he loved and left behind. Ryan, please know I'm only a phone call away if you need anything.
I have not enough words that would do justice to a man that brought so much to my life. I'm lucky to have called him a friend and will truly miss those moments that went beyond this board where I first met one of the greatest guys I've ever known.

*speechless*

That just plain sucks. OP did always get on my case when I first got here about blabbering "Walker-this and Walker-that" but when I finally shed myself of being a Walker-LapDog, and started posting on other Mavs and their play, he gave me encouragement in saying basically how good a poster I could be when I'm not talking about you-know-who. I didn't know him personally, like LRB does, but I *do* know this :
The man was funny, witty, had a great response to any post made toward him(good or bad), and basically someone who would always be RESPECTED, period.
R.I.P. OutletPass. I'll miss you....D-M.Com will miss you.....Everyone will miss you.

This is truly awful news. I am more of a lurker on this site, but always enjoyed reading OP's posts. I didn't always agree with his basketball takes, but it was his posts about his son and other topics that made it easy to relate to him. God bless his family.

RE: Outletpass Funeral Services
A very good man and a great contributor to this board is now no longer with us... I never met him, but through his discussions with all of us about his family, (specifically Ryan), I felt like I knew him. As MT mentioned, he definately was a member of this site that obviously deserved respect. Through his words about Ryan, I would say that he was a great father that was very proud of his family. My condolences to OP's family and friends.
A quote from one of my favorite movies really hits home right now, (the context regarding locked up is out of place, but the higher meaning is my point). That quote says:
I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are just too bright... and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice... but still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend.

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
It's amazing how many people are saying that OP was the 1st person that befriended them on this board. Let me add my name to that list.
He was a great guy, and if he's touched this many people on a Mavs message board, just imagine the people that he's touched in his day to day life.
I met him when I went to go see Ryan play last season...I can't imagine a father being more proud.
Stay strong Rayn, our prayers are with you
This board won't be the same

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
Here is the exact name, address and phone number of the funeral home:
Capehart, Mike - Dalton & Son Funeral Home
1550 N Stemmons Fwy, Lewisville, TX 75067

(972) 436-6511
I plan on sending a floral arrangement and will call the order in later today. I would be be willing to add the names of any of you who wish to send your wishes along to the family. Just PM or email me.
And Ryan as others have said before, if there is ever anything that you need just let me know. I never heard a father speak with more pride and love than did Bill when speaking of you. I am so very sorry for you loss.

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
I didn't know Bill very long. I don't know that I knew him that well either. We did have many conversations together via PM. In fact, I had just been asking about him recently wondering where he went.
But right now, I realize how much I'm going to miss him. I know that numerous others feel the same way. He was a good man. He would always gladly take the time to respond to any question you might have, or commend you for any thoughts and opinions you might have expressed.
I look at the contribution he made to this board, and in the lives of many of the people who post here, and I know that he will be sorely missed. My thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt sympathies go out to the family in this difficult time.
He will be missed greatly.

I'm in shock. I simply don't/can't believe it.
Bill was charming, insightful and mischievous. He was a delight to meet and talk to over the past year and a half.
All I can do right now is think of him and ask God to take care of him.
He was a wonderful man. He will be so, so missed.

Even though I didn't really know OP except the posts of his that I have read. I would have to say a lot his of posts were uplifting, and he seemed to be really happy in his life. He also seemed to have a true passion for sports. In alot of his previous posts he would love using stats to demonstrate his theories in the sports world.
My prayers go out to his family. Thank you OP.

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
OP was my favorite poster here bar none. He was kind and caring and he was one of the first people to contact me when I had a death in my family. He consistently followed up that first PM with kind, caring words to make sure I was okay. Our friendship began then and continues to this day. OP was my best friend here.
I'm speechless other than that. I think that D-M.com needs to do something together for his family because the board is so much less without him.

How wonderful that someone you've only communicated with on a sports-messsage board can elicit such love from so many different people. One of the many "extended family members" on this board sends his warmest love to the family. God bless you all.

RE:Outletpass Funeral Services
Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Bill
Just to show that I'm thinking of him."
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
"There's a message sir," "Bill died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the

Let everlasting light shine on them, O Lord,

Eternal rest grant them, Lord;
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
