forget shaq and do this...
dallas trades- walker, stackhouse, delk
recieves- anontio davis, pippen, curry, chris jefferies
chicago trades- davis, pippen, curry, jefferies
recieves- walker, stackhouse, delk
mavs
C- curry / bradley / ppod
PF- dirk / najera / fortson
SF- howard / pippen
SG- finley / quis
PG- nash / harris
bulls
C- chandler
PF- walker / fizer
SF- johnson / deng / dupree
SG- crawford / stackhouse
PG- hinrich / gordon/ delk
i personally don't think the mavs would land shaq this offseason.. the lakers are asking too much (dirk) for the old guy.. he wouldn't last long here. if we land curry, we still have the same bulk and he is still way younger than shaq. we don't mess up the big three.
chicago gets reasonable contributions from stackhouse and walker. delk could provide veteran help both for hinrich and gordon. they get rid of davis and pippen's unreasonable contracts. they turned curry and an old pile of sh*t for walker, stack and delk. not bad for them too.
forget buss, shaq and the lakers. sure they have a dominant and rich chaampionship past, but everything that goes up has nowhere to go but down.. they can kiss my white rosy a** if they'd ask dirk for shaq !!!!

RE:forget shaq and do this...
in a second, but it would have virtual cash considerations even if Chicago didnt demand them because we would have to buy out Pippen, and we would still have one too many players.
edit: didnt Chicago say that they wanted Curry and not Chandler?

I believe Chicago said that Curry and Hinrich were the key players. I don't know how true that is. Everyone keeps saying he is available, but the same people swear that Dallas is going to trade Dirk for Shaq.
If I was guessing, Curry is really hard to get. I don't think Chicago would even think about this deal before saying no.

RE:forget shaq and do this...
My only problem with the trade, whether you use Curry or Chandler, is that you are taking back too many bodies. Even if Pippen retires, you already have too many people and are needing to get less players, not more in return.

RE:forget shaq and do this...
I think they would want you to take E. Robinson/Davis/Curry for Walker/Laettner/Delk. That would allow them to clear tons of cap next summer. They could then move Chandler and Crawford to get other pieces if they wanted. They might want Stack instead of Laettner, but given all the size they are moving, I think they would want a big guy back. It would kill us salary wise for 2 more years, but hey in the summer of 2005 they become trade commodities and we could get some service out of Davis.
Nash/Harris
Danials/
Fin/Howard/E Rob/TAW
Dirk/Najera/Fortson
Curry/Davis/Bradley/Pavel
You might pick up Avery for the 15th spot, keep steffanson, or add a player from the summer team like Flores or the Congan.
Its not Shaq/Dirk, but it is much better than last year.

I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. But Stackhouse backs up Daniels and becomes your sixth man (you forgot him). 15th can't be Avery, it is more likely to be Pavel.

Wasn't Fizer taken by the Bobcats in the expansion draft. If the Shaq thing falls through a trade for Curry or Chandler might be the perfect solution to the mavs center problems.

I still see them as a possible if the Shaq thing falls through.
Of course I can see any of these players coming to the Mavs.
LA - Shaq
GS - Damp or Foyle
Chicago - Curry or Chandler
Cleveland - Big Z, Battie, Diop
Philly - Dalembert (although I think this takes some big time negotiation)

Paxson Has No Intention of Trading Curry, Chandler, or Crawford
Added: 30th June, 2004 2:11 PM ET
Chicago Sun Times: Looks like other teams have to try harder if they want to pry away Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, or Jamal Crawford from the Chicago Bulls as GM Paxson shoots down rumors right and left.
''There is no truth to those rumors whatsoever,'' Paxson said Tuesday of talk that Curry was on the trading block. ''That's a bunch of nonsense. I've always said that we want to improve our team and we're doing that, and we always listen when people have something to say. We have received offers for Curry, [Tyson] Chandler and Jamal [Crawford]. But we have received nothing worth paying much attention to. We have no intention of trading them and we are not shopping them.
''In fact, since the draft I have not received one phone call from any general managers about any of our players. If somebody wanted to acquire Curry, they would have to make an offer that makes total sense because there aren't that many guys coming along with his size and his skill level. If we got to the point where we felt he couldn't become the kind of center we feel he can become, we would be interested in trading him. But we haven't gotten anywhere even close to that.''
Paxson made it clear that he will not let rampant speculation force his hand in trades.
''The easiest thing to do is get players' names and salaries and sit down and say the Bulls should get this guy or the guys should get that guy,'' Paxson said. ''There is more to doing a deal than that. It's not that easy at all. I got blasted by a lot of people and e-mails on draft day because I did not do the deal for [Indiana Pacers forward] Al Harrington. Well, the truth of the matter is that we tried. But they wouldn't do the deal. And we certainly are not going to give away players or do deals that help other teams but hurt us.''
Paxson said the drafting of guards Gordon and Duhon doesn't mean Crawford is history.
''That is a great misconception that I tried my best to put to rest on the night of the draft,'' Paxson said. ''Obviously, there are only two guards out on the floor at any given time. But you have to have a guard rotation and that's one of the things I thought we are able to build up in the draft. There is the belief that we will not match Jamal's contract offer.
''Well, we are going to talk with Jamal and his agent, Aaron Goodwin, on Thursday and see where they are coming from, and we will start that conversation. We have every intention of bringing him back. He's in our long-range budget proposals. We are going to see where the market is with Jamal and we will act on that. As long as I feel a player is signed to a tradeable contract, we will do everything we can to sign that player.'' Read Article

Danny Ainge had "No Intention" of trading Walker, too. If you recall.... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

RE: forget shaq and do this...
Are you drunk? Ainge couldn't send AWalker out of Boston fast enough and said as much. He hated Walker.....for obvious reasons that sadly the rest of us understand now as well.

RE:forget shaq and do this...
I think I remember a TNT telecast right after Ainge was named Celts' GM in which Walker's departure was all but classifed imminent.
Walker's exit visa from Boston was about as big a secret as Shaq's desire to leave LA.
