Hull back to the Dallas Stars????
ames will be happy......ESPN is reporting that Brett Hull may be close to rejoining the Stars. Of course, the NHL will have to avoid a lockout. If the NHL indeed goes through a work stoppage, the league could very well collapse.
Hull to return to Dallas Stars???? |

Eh. Not really. This is totally going against their whole get-younger philosophy. It's also totally hypocritical since they said he was too old to sign before & suddenly he isn't now? They've gotten into a mini bidding war w/Phoenix. Last I heard, the offer is a year at $2mil+. The Yotes have a 2 year deal on the table.
I see this as a pure marketing move. And maybe trying to make Modano happy.

It is all about Marketing. The Phoneix deal is for 2 years, but the 2nd year is not guaranteed. Therefore Hull looks like he is going to opt for the Dallas deal.

This fell through today, btw. I'm pretty indifferent, but the Stars end up sort of looking bad for going after him that hard. Stuff like this & signing Stu(uuu) Barnes to an extension (although I love Stu & actually think it'll help to keep him around to help the kids) really makes one question the sincerity of the mgt's whole "we're going younger & cheaper" speil.

Is it just me or does phoenix like to steal our star players? i.e. Brett Hull, Steve Nash, Emmit Smith.

LOL too bad those guys are all after their primes. If they want to have two has-beens in Hull and Smith, and pay 65 million for Nash, then by all means, "steal" them.
