Default RE:Preseason Stats

Turnovers are going to be an issue this year. Hopefully, improved defense will make up for that.

I don't think TOs will be a problem. They've GREATLY fixed the TO problem compared to how it was and with time it will only get better.

Given the limited minutes for many of these guys... their stats are looking about right. (%'s a bit off) Wow, Devin 3+ steals in 31 minutes.

Very good scoring-wise. I'd like to see better rebounding and assisting in the regular season.

I don't think you should be too worried about our shooting pct. Once games start counting for real, our post players are going to start muscling harder for positioning in the paint, Nowitzki (and hopefully Finley) are going to see much more playing time, and our slashers are going to get off the IR and start working.

I've got to say the numbers look pretty good, and I'm excited at the prospect of what this season might be like. Hopefully our last game against the Kings is a preview of what we might expect to see night-in, night-out with the Mavs. Runnin' Gunnin' high-octane offense. Our defensive intensity has also picked up a little, and I expect it to get even better.

I sure hope that Nellie reins in the TOs, I remember reading that part of the reason why the Mavs were so successful in the past with TOs is because Nellie associated it with playing time.

Our last 4 games we've had 13, 13, 15, and 14 TO's. That's a bit up from previous years, but our preseason averages are still good for 4th fewest in the league.

guys like Damp, Dirk, Dickau are good % shooters and will be fine(Damp and DD did had great % both well over 50%), Howard around 45% is good for him...don't worried about the field goal %, the injuries would be much more of a concern, if I were a worrier. Though I would like the point guards to pull up their collective %.
I think the Turnovers will be up a bit, but not enough to knock them to the bottom half of the league.

Definitely we're going to have more turnovers this year than in the last several years. However, I think that we should see a gradual improvement as the season goes on. I also think that we should get more turnovers from our opponents than past years. Add the extra forced turnovers from our defense to less shooting % and keeping rebounds close to last year if not better and we should come out ahead overall IMO.
