RE: henderson back to mavs?
Henderson comes back here. He knew what would happen. Why Ape? A little muscle and some fouls when needed. Like others have said, he knows the system.
I'd be surprised if he goes elsewhere.

RE: henderson back to mavs?
Now that we might get our undisputed banger, bruiser, rebounder and all-defensive stud, we could actually win it all this year. Is that TD shakin' in his boots?!

RE:henderson back to mavs?
I would like to know if the Hendu release thing was prearranged (i.e. part of the deal, Bucks agreed to do it before the trade went through) or if the Mavs just got lucky. If it was negotiated through, this is really a pretty brilliant move by Donnie.

It is against the cba for it to be in the leagal paperwork but it was a "wink wink" deal between the teams

RE: henderson back to mavs?
wow, great work donnie. if hendu can manage to come back, we would have a legitimate replacement for damp in the time being and become a better defense. mad props.

RE:henderson back to mavs?
Why would Hendu WANT to come back here for the minimum? Why would we want him back? Don't you think he would be VERY pissed if he had to forgo all that money for the vet minimum? Pissed enough to not want to be here or not to give as much?

Alan's getting paid the full amount that he signed for. None of this costs him any money.

RE: henderson back to mavs?
G's right.
Milwaukie pays the rest of the 8.3 million dollars that as hard as he worked, could never earn. He gets his money for playing for the rest of the season, and then he can sign with us for about $400,000.
He can stay in Dallas in his house, he doesnt have to move his family out, and he gets paid the same. Dallas has talked very nicely of him and made him feel wanted. As long as the franchise was honest with Henderson and talked to him about the trade, there really arent many reasons not to re-sign.

That's almost too good to be true! What if we get Hendu back, do we want Payton too?

RE: henderson back to mavs?
I don't think I do. And rumors aside, most of the talk I've heard today has him re-signing with Boston.

How about the opportunity to actually get INTO a game. Where will he get minutes in Dallas now. Henderson pretty much has to play the rest of the year to show his injury problems are behind him and thus get a new contract.

call me crazy, but I don't think Henderson is a big free agent priority for anyone at the conclusion of the season...

Coach Don Nelson said if that Henderson clears waivers, the Mavericks would be aggressive in trying to re-sign the 6-9 forward.

RE:henderson back to mavs?
"trying to re-sign" only works if Henderson wants to come back. He will be a free agent and might be looking for a better situation in order to get a longer deal.

I'll bet you 10 dollars to D-M.com that he signs with us, Max. Back it up.

Good Lord isn't that the truth. I cannot even begin to imagine him getting more than the league minimum, certainly no WAY he gets the lle.

RE:henderson back to mavs?
So why would Hendu come back?
How about a chance the be in the NBA Playoffs? Not just be in them, but play, contribute and contend.
This guy has spent his entire career in Atlanta. Returning here may be as close to a ring as he'll ever get. Any NBA player who passes up such a chance to contend is only in it for the money. The way Henderson plays shows such respect for the game, I can't imagine him passing on a chance to go deep into the playoffs.
And I wouldn't worry about the minutes. He'd start some at center until Damp returns, and play it a lot against quicker teams, especially when we need some D, or need to play man to man.

RE: henderson back to mavs?
I still contend that he has loyalty here, but he will contribute considerably less (hopefully!) when this team gets healthy than he would somewhere like Miami, who is also playoff bound.
