Ok, so I stole this off the LMF board. Interesting for any Duncan fans, imo.

Tim Duncan has just passed both the 2000 point and 1000 rebound marks for the season, as the Spurs are beating the Pistons. I believe only three other active players - all centers - have done that in a season. It is unclear who was the last forward to get both in a single year - Malone, Barkley, Bird, and McHale never did; J. did it only in his rookie year in the ABA. If you wish to call McAdoo a forward (Gary's comparison to Dirk), he accomplished the feat in 1977-8.

In any case, it is an historic achievement for Duncan.
