Boyakasha! Spike Lee teams with Ali G Here’s an interesting combination: Spike Lee has filmed some NBA promos for TNT starring Ali G. The spots, which begin airing this week, feature Ali G, aka Sacha Baron Cohen, interviewing NBA players Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Ben Wallace, Amare Stoudemire, Steve Nash and Richard Jefferson. (The ads will also include TNT’s studio team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, along with TNT’s newest analyst, Reggie Miller.) According to Sports Illustrated, “In one [ad], Cohen sat with Miami’s Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade for an unscripted session in which he acted as if he had no idea who they were. ‘He totally disrepec’ed me,’ says Wade, borrowing one of Cohen’s favorite words. (Wade has seen Ali G and was prepared for Cohen.) I’ve never met anyone like him. He's a real, real serious dude.’ ” —Posted by Tim Nudd

My only question is what has Spike Lee ever done? Spike Lee isn't deserving of working with the greatness of Ali G. Spike Lee should be working with the likes of Pauley Shore and Arsenio Hall.
