Trade with Portland?
Just thought I'd stir the pot a little with this one.

Change in team outlook: +8.8 ppg, +3.1 rpg, and +2.1 apg.

Why the Mavs do it:
If Stack's not coming back, Patterson could be a good option at the backup 3, personality/attitude notwithstanding. The way Damp is playing this year, is Przybilla much of a downgrade? 24 MPG each out of Przybilla and Diop would make me happy, compared to watching Damp just stand around out there.
Why the Blazers do it:
They get something for Patterson. And I'm bored at work today so I figured I'd post something.

Protland gets nothing in return, so i would think that they wouldnt make the trade..
If i were the mavs i would make that trade. Przybilla is a decent center and a good shot blocker, and Patterson is a nice addition to the defensive side of the ball..

This trade would be very good for the Mavs. Pryzbilla will produce when given decent floor time and Patterson would be a good energy/defense 2 or 3 off of the bench. With that said, I don't think Portland would do it although it would help them to get another veteran player in their lineup

Portland didnt even want Malik Rose for Patterson. Why would they take Dampier's contract, AND give away a talented young guy.

Don't really think they would...I was just playing with the numbers after reading an article on Patterson and thinking he could fit in here. I think the Blazers would be idiots to make this trade...but at least it works according to the CBA!

I hate patterson. If all Dampier does is collect 8 points and 8 rebounds on the season we will be fine. Pryzbilla doesn't blow me away. Damp and Diop are the best tandem the mavs have had in the Cuban era and maybe ever.
