I'm not dismissing them, just saying that they're not coming out of the West.
It's been done, what, twice in the past 30 years? I think the odds are with me when I say it's not going to happen this year...and if it does, Houston won't be the team.
We're about the same age so you've been watcing basketball as long as I have. You have to know the importance of playoff experience and playoff success is. By my count Houston has two players (Anderson and Howard) who have won a playoff series and those aren't the right two. Of course T-Mac and Yao will eventially make it out of the first round of the playoffs...they have too much talent not to. But do you honestly think that they're gong to win three straight series without home court advantage? Look at how they reacted when they're backs were against the wall last year...they got beat by 40!
The Houston team that most people reference had Hakeem playing the best ball of his careeer, Clyde Drexler and a bunch of guys with ice water in thier veins...Kenny the Jet, Big Shot Rob Horry, Mario Ellie, Sam Cassell.
Clyde had been to the finals twice and the other guys had rings so they thought nothing of playing a game 5 in Utah or a game 7 in PXH.
There's no comparison between that Houston team and this one.
