Jesus.. Quis is playing great ball and Diop is the best backup center in the league.. why make them throw-ins?

I don't like the Sacramento trade. At this point in his career Peja's heart is really in question. To me Diop is untouchable.
Boston for LeFrentz and Pierce... Hmm I might do this deal. The Mavs would easily have the best core of guards in the league with Stack, Jet, Devin and Pierce, perimeter defense would tighten up as well. LeFrentz might be able to provide serviceable minutes at the 5 and in a back up role to Dirk, ala KVH. If I knew more about Powell. If I felt Powell could give 15 minutes per game of quality hustle minutes of rebounding and dish out 3 or 4 hard fouls on opposing 4's then I'd do the deal. The second deal would hinge 100% on Powell, and whether he is capable of stepping up into an expanded role. But giving up Diop is definitely a lot...
Trade 1: Never do it...
Trade 2: Only if Powell can give 15 min at the 4 per game every night...

Not a fan of scenario #1.
Scenario #2 has possilities. If Raef is relatively healthy he can take over the KVH role somewhat. I wouldn't worry about Powell being ready as some suggested.
The question is if Diop is too much to give. Pierce/Raef for Daniels/KVH is a clear upgrade only because its Paul Pierce.
The question you have to ask yourself is if you think MBenga ready to provide what Diop is at this point. If not, then we are going backwards and, if Boston insisted on a young C, then I would try to include MBenga instead. Frankly, I am not sure MBenga won't sign somewhere else after his contract because of lack of playing time.

Why wouldn't Boston be interested? They get two young/cheap upcoming players in Daniels and Diop..plus they get KVH off the books at the end of the year. Most people would tend to think Dallas would be offering to much.

Daniels is not what i would call cheap. Pierce is a stud. I doubt seriously they do that. BTW i love diop but to suggest he is untouchable is just stupid.

Hate the Sac deal; absolutely love the Boston deal
Damp/Diop
Dirk/Lafrentz
Howard/ Stackhouse
Pierce/ Griffin
Terry/ Harris
That is a rediculous line up...we would have to throw in some incentives to get the trade done though.

I think SEA would like this
It gets rid of Allen's max. It gets rid of Fortson. It gives them an expiring contract in KVH. They get a good player in Daniels who might turn out to be something special in the end.

I agree 5-O the Boston Deal is a steal... Still these kinds of trades are the ones that get done on trade deadline day... Just look at the KVH acquisition last year...
