They are overrated because 2 points is two points but depending on the dunk, they can be awesome for highlights.

Let's not forget the psychological impact a high-flying dunk can have on both teams. When LeBron or Wade or anyone else shows off an incredible dunk, it pumps up his team and demoralizes the other. And of course, it gets the fans involved in the game which at times can be absolutely crucial.

Back to the topic at hand. Dirk is most definitely the man. At this point, there shouldn't be any question about that. In terms of ability, and leadership, I think he's proven himself time and again this season.

But as the loss to New Jersey showed, it's gonna take more than Dirk simply being the man for us to get through this tough stretch and take the first seed. Dirk was unstoppable in the second half of that game, but the rest of the guys were playing like cows on crutches. Bottom line, we need Josh Howard and Devin Harris healthy, and we desperately need to stop getting off to horrible starts and getting in getting into big deficits against lousy teams. Fortunately, we only have one more afternoon game this season against Denver.

Dirk Nowitzki (PF, Dallas) – Nowitzki has recorded a double-double in six of eight games, averaging 29.6 points on 54 percent shooting, 1.6 threes, 10.9 boards, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 blocks during that stretch.

I cannot even wrap my brain around those numbers.

This thread should delete itself as punishment for even daring to allude that Dirk is not, in fact, the Man.
