You guys are gonna love this.
It's from Spurstalk, which I think is better than Spursreport. Deep down those guys know we flat out beat them, and they really praise one of our players.

It's funny how they are all acting like they knew Howard would be this good. He was the steal of the draft, he wasn't an obvious star. We got him at #28, so it is apparant that the rest of the league didn't know he was going to be this good.

The Spurs? I don't think we're playing the Spurs anymore.
RIP!

I remember wanting Lampe. I'm not afraid to admit that. Of course, when the Mavs announced they drafted Josh Howard I was like: who? I never heard of him. Nbadraft.net compared him to James Posey.
I didn't think Josh had that high of a ceiling after his first year or two. But now seeing him, I think he can become a 21-22 poits/8 rebounds type of a guy. With exceptional defense.
He needs better passing skills (especially on the break) and he needs to learn to go left on the blocks. But the Mavs definitely got a steal in that draft.

I remember being interested in lampe and moreso pachulia but was thrilled when the consensus ACC player of the year fell to the mavs at the end of the first round. BTW while we were talking about idiotic rules that draft rule needed to be brought up. There is no way that the spurs should have drafted before the mavs that year. if there is a tiebreaker system for homecourt in the playoffs and winning the Division/conference then the same tiebreaker should apply in reverse to the draft. There is no way the spurs should have gotten homecourt over the mavs and a higher pick that was actually their own. That coin flip rule is possibly the dumbest rule in any sport.

Josh is obviously good on his own but he's better next to Dirk. They just complement each other perfect!
They're gonna' be a deadly forward duo, arguably in the top 3 (if not the best!), for the next 5-6 years.

I was referring to the love they have for Josh and the fact that they think it was their management's worst mistake in the last years not drafting him. They think he is really good, a key reason to the Mavs win. Therefore they, inadvertently, accept the fact that the players won the game. That was what I was trying to explain.

You know people are going on and on about wade being the first cat from the '03 draft to get to the finals .... refering to the lebron, carmello draft...... But what about Josh? That would be great , if Josh Howard was the dude from the '03 draft to win a title

Well darko has a ring does he not? I know he doesnt play but oh well. IT balances out about howard because if not for the dumbest rule in sports the mavs would have picked before them.

I just read several different threads on their board.
Geez, how many conspiracy theories can Spurs fans come up with?
