Interesting thought there. I hadn't ever thought about that.
I always go back to, I just don't think Dumbledore would've begged for mercy. I just don't. I will be very upset if Snape killing him turns out to not be part of the plan.

This isn't good news
Quote:
Dear 'Harry Potter' fans,
You may want to sit down and squeeze a close friend's hand for support. It breaks my heart to tell you this, but there is a chance that Emma Watson, the actress who plays the feisty and overwhelmingly beloved Hermione Granger in the 'Potter' films, may not be returning for installments six and seven.
With filming on 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' well under way, negotiations have begun to bring back the franchise's three big guns -- Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Watson -- for the final two flicks. While Radcliffe and Grint are reportedly more than keen on reprising their roles, Watson recently expressed reservations in an interview with Newsweek.
When asked if she'd be renewing her contract, Watson responded, "I don't know yet. Every film is such a huge production, and it's such a long time." She went on to say that while she loves to act, she's not sure that it's the only thing she wants to do. Now 16, Watson recently notched near-perfect scores on her national exams (a pretty big deal over in Britain), so she may have college on her mind. If she were to return for films six and seven, she'd most likely have to postpone her college career until 20.
That said, nothing is set in the Sorcerer's Stone yet. Young Emma might very well decide that she loves Hermione too much to abandon her. I know a lot of 'Potter' fans -- my younger brother included -- will be devastated if she doesn't return. Legions of aspiring young actresses over in England and Ireland, on the other hand, would surely be pumped at the prospect of landing such a plum role. Will Watson return or depart? Only time will tell. Until then, all we can do is throw around wild conjectures as to who might replace her. My money is on Helen Mirren -- finest British actress in film today. Although she might be a spot too old.

Going to college right out of High School is overrated.

Eh. Like I've stated previously, I don't really care about the movies.
They've also had these scares before. They thought they were going to lose Racliffe at one point.

Since both of her buddies are going to stick with it, I hope she'll decide that it's only 2 more.... as much hatred as I have for the directors of the movies, I have always thought the cast (outside of Michael Gambon) is absolutely outstanding

when is it supposed to come out? I cant wait. BTW on the R.A.B being regulus black, im fairly certain it is. The initials change to R.A.Z. in Dutch and the black family name turns to zwartz or something like that so like i said im fairly certain.

We dont know yet. We do know she is a significant way through writing it. And she knows how she wants it to all end up. And that she is already deciding between 2 possible titles.
My feeling is that it will be next summer

The big theory is that it will be released on 7/7/07, because of the symmetry there, and she's stated before that "7 is a very magical number"...whatever. A lot of people think that's when it will be released.

lol I hadn't heard that yet.
That could be right...July sounds about right.
Last time for book 6, she announced the release date on christmas day I think....and it was out in July.
So using that time table, that gives her 3 more months this year to deliver the manuscript to the publisher....damnit she needs to finish.

She said stuff like that before.
Could go either way. I know the publishers are anxious to get this thing out. I'm still predicting late 2007 at the latest. I don't think she's going to push it until 08.
I reaaaallly hope she doesnt.

to be honest, I think that the fact that its written for 13 year olds is one of Rowlings greatest feats. Do you realize how difficult it is to write something that 13 year olds will read, enjoy, and understand but yet adults still find interesting? Not an easy task at all.

I agree....
I always like to think that it's written for the year that Harry is in. 11 through 17 year olds?
Books 5 and 6...hell book 4 too, are not written for children. There is a ton of subtlety to pick up on, and a fairly complicated ongoing plot with many layers.
The fact that my grandmother loves the books as much as my 14 year old cousin is quite an accomplishment.

I can't believe I actually started a whole thread with a sarcastic comment.
Of course, since I made that remark, my wife got me into the books, and I'm halfway through #5 already. Guess I'm a dork too.

Title of Harry Potter 7 revealed
JK Rowling
JK Rowling has amassed a £540m fortune from writing
Author JK Rowling has revealed the title of the seventh and final Harry Potter book.
It will be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The announcement was made on the writer's official website.
Despite the publication date not being known, the book is tipped to be a big seller, like the rest in the series.
Speculation about the plot has surrounded the book after Rowling admitted two characters will die - some think it could be Harry Potter himself.
'Elated and overwrought'
The title has certainly got some fans excited.
Harry, 13, from Leicestershire emailed BBC Newsround and said: "It sounds interesting, but a bit sinister."
Book chain Waterstone's children's buyer, Sam Harrison, said the announcement had been greeted with "huge excitement" among Potter fans.
"This is a wonderfully intriguing and ominous title, with all the sense of magic and adventure that any true Potter fan has come to love and expect," Harrison added.
I'm now writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more
JK Rowling
The last book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, broke UK records by shifting just over two million copies on its first day of release.
Sales of all Harry Potter titles now total more than 52 million worldwide.
This week Rowling revealed how she has gone back to writing in cafes - as she did 13 years ago when starting to write about the boy wizard.
She has also admitted how she has been dreaming of the character.
Writing on her website she described it as an "epic dream" where she was Harry and the narrator simultaneously.
THE HARRY POTTER SERIES
A selection of Harry Potter books
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the US)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
In a recent web posting, she said she has been working hard on the last book.
"I'm now writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more," she said.
She also described feeling "alternately elated and overwrought" at writing it and joked she cannot decide if she wants to finish it or not.
The first four novels in the series have been turned into films, while the fifth, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is currently in production and is due for release in July 2007.
Helena Bonham Carter joins the cast as the evil Bellatrix Lestrange and Imelda Staunton will play the part of dark arts teacher Dolores Umbridge.

this is some stuff i found interesting from wikipedia..
things to remember for book 7: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:
-why dumbledore had james potter's invisibility cloak--when he can turn invisible himself
-"remember my last" .. letter from dumbledore to petunia
-godric's hollow
-harry saving wormtail..in turn wormtail owes him a great debt according to dumbledore
-kreacher's importance in book 7
-RAB
-harry's eyes resembling his mother's--very important
-"gleam of triumph" in dumbledore's eyes when voldemort was restored with harry's blood
