Is Willis the best Offensive Center on this team?
I think a good offensive center is a killer for the midgets.

We're not going to get much offense in 2 minutes.

All of them have offensive game, atleast I think. Supposedly Diop's midranger ain't bad anymore. Damp can hit midrangers and dunk with authority. Willis has more range than everyone. But, we don't ask for offense out of our centers, so in the end the discussion is mute.

they could all be very productive in this series against a much smaller center.

Willis is like a 30% scorer. He isnt going to change anything.
Diop offers probably the most because he is the quickest and unless its a pick and roll with monte or baron he should be able to provide at least moderate ability to defend it. Diop provides a lot of rebounding and probably the best shotblocking.
Dampier probably offers a little less. He is so slow that Harrington is either going to get open threes or free drives every time down the court. If he was better in the post he could force the warriors out of the zone but he doesn't provide much offensively. He can beat up Harrington for position but doesn't necessarily use that extra position.
Willis is slower than all of them and honestly shouldnt be mentioned.

Diop's mid-range shot doesn't make up for the fact that he can't finish a dunk to save his life.
I'm going with Damp. He's a better finisher (by far) than Diop, and he has a hook-shot.

I don't get this. Damp is NOT a bad offensive center.
If you give Damp the ball against these midgets, he will score in buckets.
Damp is EASILY our best offensive center.
Damp is also the better ft shooter.

didn't damp lead the league in FG% - i know he didn't have enough attempts to qualify, but when he gets the ball, it usually goes in.

Damp is our best center on offense and defense. I say start him and make them go through him and if he fouls out bring Diop in. Damp used to average 15 per game. We have to slow the game down. A good as we are we cant run with GS

I agree. If KW is our best offensive center then we might as well cut Damp and Diop now. KW is old, can't move that well and doesn't have the strength of Damp or Diop. KW might still be able to put in a bucket or 2 but he can't play extended minutes.

Ummm...NO.
And the fact that someone would suggest Kevin Willis is the best anything on this team, is truly hysterical.
He's not even the best towel waiver.

DJ Who? Does he spin hip hop or techno?
BTW - Diop was an absolute BEAST last night!

I was agreeing until the strength of Damp or Diop remark. Willis has lots more strength. He is just too slow. Willis could put Damp and Diop in the second row -- if he could catch them.

Yes, I am still wondering how good he could be.

Willis is the best offensive center on the team. But he should not be in this series at all!!!
If we end up with Houston you'll see Willis in there bangin' with Ming and making him cry. When we get a good lead Avery will say "Go rough up that Chinaman!" while Diop and Damp preserve themselves to be able to absorb fouls in the inevitable McGrady last stand.

It's very strange, but I've noticed how Diop steps up his game when he really needs to. For example, most of the time, when he can easily get a dunk, he just timidly holds the ball above the rim and tries to drop it through, which usually ends up in a brick. But in big games and/or crunch time, he'll actually throw it down.
Obviously, the main example I think of when he played really well was overtime Game 7 against the Spurs. But that's not the only critical time I've seen him elevate his game, even though unfortunately I can't remember the exact situations.
