Most probably know this already, but I didn't see it posted anywhere.

Nash Named to NBA All-Interview Team

NEW YORK, June 19 – NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Shaquille O’Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers headlines the selections for the 2001-02 NBA All-Interview Team, announced today by the NBA Public Relations Directors Association (NBAPRDA).

O’Neal (25 votes), who is making his first appearance on the First Team and second overall appearance on the All-Interview team, is joined on the First Team by leading vote-getter Charles Oakley of Chicago (37 votes), Milwaukee’s Ray Allen (32 votes), Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett (25 votes) and Seattle’s Brent Barry (22 votes), who is making his first appearance on the team. Orlando’s Doc Rivers (33 votes) received his third selection as a coach and his 13th overall selection by being named as the First Team coach.

Utah’s Karl Malone (20 votes) makes his 15th consecutive appearance on the All-Interview Team by virtue of his selection to the Second Team. Joining Malone on the Second Team are Los Angeles Clippers’ Elton Brand (20 votes), Dallas’ Avery Johnson (18 votes), New Jersey’s Jason Kidd (17 votes) and Dallas’ Steve Nash (16 votes). Milwaukee’s George Karl, named as a coach to his 10th All-Interview team, was selected to the Second Team with 25 votes.

A total of 113 players and 18 coaches were named on at least one of the 113 ballots cast. The voting panel consisted of sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada who regularly cover the NBA. They were asked to vote for a coach and five players, without regard to position, based on their accessibility and ability to provide informative and interesting quotes.

Nick Van Exel and Head Coach Don Nelson also recieved votes.

This could be the first time in history that someone has been bashed for being on an All-Interview team. You heard it here first.
