If AJ is around, maybe 10-15 then. And AJ picks up the other.

The Mavs have made a major trade the last two seasons, during the season. At some point the core needs to learn to play together. The Mavs won 57 games last year DESPITE the addition of 4 players to the roster at mid-season. The top teams generally make either minor off-season trades or no trades. The major contenders haven't historically made major, in season, moves. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Mavs brought in a starting SF in exchange for NVE, IF they bring in ball distributing PG who can hit his open shots.

NVE should not be part of the jelling process..
trading your 5th best player isn't considered a major move by many people

David,
The thing is, the core is and has been Nash/Finley/Dirk. So far, all others have only been role players.

The core also includes Raef...good call though Mick.

i wouldn't go as far as to say that NVE is a role player..but he's definitely not part of the core..
if he's part of the core, then part of the mavs apple is rotten

The NBA forces the Mavs to play five players on the court at all times. Raef became a starter and NVE was playing 20-30 mpg. THOSE guys have to learn to play together. It doesn't happen at mid-season with no training camp. The Mavs don't REALLY know how those players can do together. Raef and NVE are two guys that played a lot of minutes.

their backup PG can't do that now. He doesn't look to distribut first and he doesn't hit open shots with any regularity

I think many of us have seen enough of NVE throughout his career to realize that we DON'T want him playing in a Mavs uniform if at all possible

Good quotes on Nene Bayliss. I really don't know a much about this Hilario guy. He seems pretty interesting now that I've read some stuff on him. A person with those kinds of skills could certainly fill in some minutes for the Mavs.

Brazilian basketball...?
Oscar Schmidt!
Hilario sounds like a young Darryl Dawkins, except probably a better athlete.
