1 Dallas 2nd rounder
1-2 Portland 2nd rounders
Successful Scenario
Due to Dallas, Indiana, Portland and Memphis being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Dallas, Indiana, Portland and Memphis had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Why might Dallas do it.
Trade of Terry/Damp for a starting 5 that plays both ends of the floor -- no brainer.
Why Portland might do it.
They are looking to move both Randolph and Jack to get Conley and Oden. Receiving Terry and Swift are a great consolation. They really need to move their 2nd rounders for Conley.
Why Indiana might do it.
JO is wanting out, and to receive a low post threat in Randolph and a shooter in Miller + draft picks is nice compensation.
Why Memphis might do it.
If they keep Gasol, then they have wanted a player to play beside him and help with the defensive issues for a long time. This team is also in dire need of a PG. Then they would also receive draft picks. Admittedly they give up the #5 and Miller/Swift, but they get a true Center, a PG, and multiple lower picks. (maybe)
Thoughts?
Who backs out on this one?

Memphis has a #4 pick... not #5. Regardless, there's no way they're gonna' give up that pick and Miller for Dampier, Jack and couple of 2nd round picks.

Portland is young enough, etc. , that they might be able to throw in a future #1 if need be. Also, the pick # has been corrected.

Just another thought on Memphis.
Memphis needs to make a change. Who can they get with the #4 pick, or the #4 pick and Gasol that would get them any where near what this above could get them?
I mean, if the #4 and Gasol gets them Garnett then they would have to go that route.
If on the other hand the #4 gets them Conley.......... would Conley or any other player they can get with the #4 get them a true starting Center to play with Gasol, and a PG. IMO, Miller can be replaced by Jones or Gay or even Warrick, but they need a true Center with Gasol to make the offense and defense work.

Sorry... but I still don't see that happening. A #4 pick in this draft is far too valuable to give up so easy...
