Game Today Stats(Mavs Beat Seattle)
Barea had a good game. Terry not so good but hit his ft's. Ager did good and they are doing everything for him to play this next year. They are trying to bring him around and be more aggressive. Diop just can not shoot or can't score even in the summer league down low. He again rebounded good and blocked shots good. He is good on defense and not on offense. Tucker looks like a pretty good player also and had a pretty good game. Barea did not have a t o and this was good. Fazekas sucked but let's hope he improves.
We shoot 40% and they shoot 34% but we beat them bad on the ft line. Durant didn't do that good and yes he scorred but not at a good % and no rebounding from him. We all either played great defense or Diop killed Seattle with his defense. Him having to play guys like Duncan, must make defense easier against these guys. We beat Seattle by 11.

No points. Here is a better or easier where you can look at the stats.

He can really play defense, rebound and block shots but he just isn't alot on offense. Maybe his offense will improve also.

Not a bad win considering we were playing the future of the Seattle franchise (Durant and Green). Nice to see Ager play well, but 1-7 for Fazekas and 0 points for Diop isn't very encouraging.

I'm confused about what they are trying to do with diop. All of his offense has been taking 15footers,nothing inside at all.
He still can't finish worth a durn for some reason.

I'm so desperate for nba games that I found your post interesting.........how did fazekas stink it up...beyond the stats above......bad foot work, timing, deer in headlights????

He's still not used to the speed of the nba it seems. He took a little too long on some of his shots and got them contested.
In general he looks like he knows what he's doing, takes his shots when open, I saw some pretty decent position gotten by him but not much was falling.
When he's not hitting shots he's not going to do too much..I wasn't that please with his rebounding either. Overall not a very good effort.

Why does 0 points for Diop shock anyone? This guy couldn't put the ball in the basket if he was the only one on the court, it's not his offense that we love about him.

He's a half-step slow at least on defense. I was getting so frustrated watching him. He looked to get a bit more comfortable in the 2nd for a bit so maybe it's something he has to work out.... but he soon reverted to what I was seeing in the beginning.... slow to respond.
I keep hearing he's a good shooter.

We are trying to figure out why he is in the summer league at all if he's not going to get more realistic opportunities to work on his offensive game.
So it's dissappointing that he's taking so few shots and getting nothing run for him or what seems like any kind of plan to improve him.

Anybody see Oden's line? 20 minutes, 6 points, 2 rebounds and 10 fouls. It can only get better from here.

he did take 6 shots, he just missed all of them. 3 TOs as well make me think they at least forced it into him.

Well he got a lot of 12-15 footers. If that's what they expect him to do, that's going to be tough, I don't see him making those shots very consistently.

I'd be happy if they just threw it into him in the post a few times so he can attempt to catch it, and maybe even lay it up.

Yeah, and that's what we could really use from him. Unfortunatley that isn't happening so far.

Again Z Wang has a very good game. Memphis beats them but no one could stop Wang.
Z.Wang G 36:17 11-18 3-5 2-2 0 7 7 1 7 0 3 0 27
Did not miss a foul shot. 3 for 5 from 3. 11 for 18fg. Very good and 27 points.
Yi did better but he did turn the ball over some and fouled.
7 fouls and 7 turn overs but shot well. 23 points and got 12 ft's.
J.Yi G 28:40 7-15 0-0 9-12 1 3 4 0 7 0 7 1 23

jjb looked awesome in this game. he could have had several more assists if the guys on the receiving end of his passes were nba-caliber finishers. he created several of ager's baskets. i didn't see the china game, but based on this game, jjb can really play ball. can't wait to see the next game.
anyone else watch the game? the horrendous color guy kept pronouncing barea like the pasta, barilla. the guys working these games are definitely summer league quality...
