I think all of these went undrafted. Maybe we can sign them for the summer league and take a look at them, might find a player.
Aaron McGhee
Damon Hancock
Lenny Cook
Mario Stojic (may be under contract)

Just heard Donnie on Fish. They have call into Aaron McGhee and are about to sign Damond Hancock and Any Ellis. A few others he wouldn't name yet.
Training camp for summer league starts first part of July.

I like Reggie Evans and Maurice Baker.
You want mean and nasty, then you will like Reggie Evans. Very small though for a PF.

Haven't heard of Evans.... McGhee might be a good pickup... if he can play the power forward spot like a bull then it'll address a couple of intangable areas: toughness, and "strength"....
With Oggy and the new draftee coming next year I guess they aren't going to bring in a tall small forward.

Yeah Ellis is from Tech. Personally I think he's a BWS......
And I'd rather pass on Recker. He's a shooter, but if we are going after a long shooter I'd gho with the Savovic kid from Hawaii.

Don't get excited. These are for the summer league team. Don't expect more than 1 of these guys (if any) to make the 15 man roster.

Very true... But then again, the defensive player of the year was at one time "one of these guys" too..... so ya might as well see what's out there. Especially if some of these kids fill a need we don't have...

I was absolutely SHOCKED that Savovic didn't get drafted (he's the kid from Hawaii), he was suppose to go 25-40. We ought to sign him.

Andy Ellis is a Raef LaFrentz starter kit. He shoots extremely well from the outside, plays a decent post game and blocks shots. If Chris Mihm has a place in the league, than Ellis should give it a good run. Personally, I would rather have Ellis on the roster than Danny Manning and if Aaron McGhee can take the spot of Johnnie Newman than I think the Mavs would have made a couple of steals.

Seems to me we should have fenagled another second round pick so that we could secure the exclusive negotiating rights to at least one of these guys, particularly the mysterious 7-footer. Next year's second plus cash for somebody's pick in the low-40s might have worked.
