PHOENIX -- Cliff Robinson of the Detroit Pistons was sentenced to 12 months of probation Wednesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge.

Robinson was with the Phoenix Suns when he was arrested in February 2001. He subsequently was traded to Detroit.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Robert Oberbillig also ordered Robinson to pay a $750 fine and complete 24 hours of community service and eight hours of drug education. As part of the plea, a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dropped, said Nicole Pena, spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, which prosecuted the case.
Robinson was arrested when a Scottsdale police officer spotted his 2001 yellow Porsche traveling erratically. He was charged with driving under the influence, and subsequent tests showed that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.146 percent. Arizona's DUI limit is 0.10.
Police also found a small amount of marijuana and a pipe in the car.
In November, Robinson pleaded guilty in Scottsdale City Court to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge stemming from the arrest. He served the 24 hours of jail time he was ordered to complete and is undergoing alcohol counseling required by the court, said Tracey Westerhausen, Robinson's attorney.
