The only fix I have to this convoluted mess they have made, is add Indy to the mix, and get NJ to add VC to the mix, and Dallas add KVH to the mix.
Then Dallas gets Kidd and JO. Indy gets VC, and NJ gets DHarris, and lots of cap room.
Dallas would have lots of $$$ to spend, but a lineup of:
Kidd, Terry, JJB
Wright, Jones, Hassell,
JHo, Stack (after the buyout)
Dirk, Bass
JO, Damp, Fazekas
Seems like it would win lots of games. It would be WAY over the cap limit though.

Dalmations you are a GENIUS! I think Cuban would definitely use KVH's expiring contract if it meant landing Kidd AND O'Neal.
We NEED to do this!!!

Dalm, just to further comment on your trade proposal here is what I wrote in another thread about why I think it works all the way around.
Dalmations Trade Proposal:
Indiana trades: J' Oneal
Indiana receives: Carter, Magloire
Why they do it: They've been looking into getting Carter for a while now so this allows them to finally part ways with J'Oneal and get the guy they want. Plus they get Magloire and his expiring contract to fill O'Neal's gap until the off-season when they can either re-sign him or get the extra salary cap space. PLUS this sends J.O'Neal to the West.
New Jersey Trades: Kidd, J.O'Neal, Wright, Allen, Magloire
New Jersey receives: Harris, KVH's expiring contract, 3-mil cash, two future first round picks, one future 2 round pick, and expiring contracts for cap filler.
Why they do it: It's obvious. They come out even better than the original proposed Kidd trade because now they get rid of both Carter's AND Kidd's contract while netting their PG of the future, expiring contracts, and picks to build around RJ and Harris. This would be a tremendous opportunity for their franchise to cut salary and start rebuilding sooner rather than later
Dallas Trades: Harris, KVH contract, two future first round picks, one future second round pick, 3 million in cash, and expiring contracts (Diop + whoever else)
Dallas Receives: Kidd, J'Oneal, Allen, Wright.
Why Dallas does it: We get Kidd and replace Diop with J'Oneal who, when healthy, is one of the best low post big men in the game that can both play defense and offense!
Our lineup:
J.O'Neal / Damp / Fazekas
Dirk / Bass / Ju.Howard
Howard / Stackhouse
Jones / Terry / Hassell
Kidd / Barea / Terry
That lineup would make us the favorites to win it all and strike fear into every other team in the NBA.
Get it done Cuban!!!

dunno why nets would do it. nor indy?
the quickest fix is to do 2 separate deals and use those first for players. magloire nor swift or marcus williams or boone or sean hill. take ur pick.
marcus nor maglore wont play anyways on the nets roster if the trade went thru. swift is diop's replacement but a bonehead. might as well get max value from the extra picks if they given up.
alternatively maglorei/natchbar for miller and add miller into the deal with kidd and throw in van horn's contract as filler is another suggestion

Nevermind O'Neal's chronic knee problem that has already forced him to miss 1/3 of the season and will probably force him to sit out the rest of the season. I guess once he gets here though it'll magically disappear and he'll be happily pogo-sticking all over the court tossing scented flower petals while humming "Freebird" like nothing ever happened...

I read he was coming back after the all-star break. Now it makes no sense, if he will be out the rest of the season; but a refreshed, rejuvenated, JO who is healthy makes sense.
Definitely require a thorough physical.

Yeah a thorough physical would be a big part of the deal.

On the injury front............
Is JO any more of a risk, than Phoenix took with Shaq?
Should Dallas take that risk?

If we're rolling the dice with Kidd & we get JO without losing anyone else of value, then why not take the risk?

I think deal would definitely cost me some serious money because I'll want to be there live when we hoist up that trophy.

It's not a cost - it's an investment!
[and other clichés that can be found at the bottom of those motivational posters at work]
