The Rangers have traded Gabe Kapler and Jason Romano to the Rockies for Todd Hollandsworth and Reyes (a lefty suck pitcher)

Romano is a loss. The rest is a non issue. The Rangers dumped salary in Kapler and the others are FA after the year.

word is is that hollandsworth will get a shot to play every day centerfield

if he can do that, romano really isn't a loss

If anybody can play center field everyday, Romano is not a loss.

He didn't have a bat, he didn't have a glove. He just had some cleats and a uniform.

Hollandsworth will suffer in Texas. Coors field and Chevez Ravine are massive hitters parks and he performed poorly both defensively and offensively. He will play CF for the remainder of the year for the Rangers as a try out, but he will not likely come to camp next season in Arizona. I doubt the Rangers will resign him. Romano is a loss. He is a very highly ranked prospects by BA and most of the others. Dennys Reyes (why his name is plural is beyond me) may have an option kicker on his contract. If so, he stays through next season. The guy is a situational lefty at best. This trade was done to dump a multiyear Kapler contract.

Rangers free up contract money per Hicks mandate, but lose on the talent end.
