Saw this on the ESPN Message Board.....
First up....
What's the update on Rashard
Nothing new so far. He said he stayed up late last night rummaging through the CBA (Collective Bargaining Aggreament) to see if he can find anything to get a SAT done with Seattle. NO...Seattle has not contacted Cuban on a possible sign and trade.
Also, said that he was the only owner in the league to have read the CBA front to back and he said there are loop holes in the system where he can get a break from signing all these maxed out contracts (wouldn't elaborate further on that subject)
Why Najera is not signed yet
He said that the agent is high balling him and thinks that he can get him a better contract somewhere else.
Cuban stood by the fact that he doesn't mind paying Najera more than anyone else. So it looks like the agent is holding this up waiting for a better offer from the Mavericks.
Any new news on Wang?
A good chance of us signing him if he shows up and plays with his country in this summers tounament.
If he doesn't show up...then things are up in the air.
Any rumors from NY true?
NO!! Have note even spoke to anybody from the NY organization about any possible trades.
On next years free agent crop
Thinks only a hand full of teams (Utah and Denver)will be able to go out a sign a max deal with free agents such as Kidd and Duncan.
[b]ODDS AND ENDS[B]
He thinks that the Mavs are close to the Kings and the Lakers even without us signing Lewis to a deal.
Said that the signing of LaFrentz was a steal in his opinion.

He also said that he does not want and will not trade for Kurt Thomas. He said Thomas is great and all but he doesn't fit the Western Conference style of play. He gave props to Kurt and then said that the Mavs don't want him.

I'm very glad Cuban said that about Thomas, maybe that will shut everyone up about trading NVE for Thomas now.

Haven't you guys learned not to believe anything Nellie or Cuban says?? Nellie said the Mavs need a "Kurt Thomas-like player" on draft night and now Cuban is saying they don't want him. Who knows what they are realy thinking.

Nellie that's EXACTLY what I was about to say... The same man that said Ming is going to be a bust, but the same man who STILL inquired what it would take to get the number one pick to get him.

To the Kid,
Ming is a Bradley Clone. Oh no Ming put up thirty a game vs what a bunch of 5ft 5 Asians. No the Mavs never did go after Ming, what are you a Rocket fan. Oh yeah they said the same thing about Bradley you can't teach size. Finally no more Nick to the Knicks deals, they are officially nixed.

I thought he said something really interesting on the luxury tax. He said something like he read everything about the luxury tax, and he found a way to use the tax against the league (I can't remember his exact wording, he said it wasn't exactly a loophole and he had some technical term for it).

I found this on another board its what cuban talked about
- Cuban talking about insurance for Lewis
- Lewis is a good fit
- Lewis CAN play D
- Lewis isn't just trying to get leverage
- Cuban can't fully recruit Lewis due to league rules
- Lewis hasn't been "picked" before, taking advantage of this
- Doesn't want to pay Najera as much as he wants
- Cuban thinks they got a bargain with Raef
- Cuban doesn't like the luxury tax
- Cuban says he's found a loophole in the CBA
- Cuban thinks there will only be two teams (Denver, Utah) with enough caproom for Tim Duncan
- Thinks Duncan is staying in SA
- SA will use the $$$ Robinson frees up to get another star
- Thinks it'll be the Jason Kidd sweepstakes instead
- Seattle hasn't talked S&T with Cuban
- Cuban doesn't want to offer any of their top-5 or 6 guys to Seattle
- Cuban doesn't want a NVE for Kurt Thomas trade
- If the Kings hit their FT's they would have beat the Lakers
- Making fun of Mike Modano (Dallas Stars player), "are we on the air"?
- Utah wanted/wants Raef
- Thinks Raef has to get comfortable in Dallas
- Thinks Raef is a 17/7 guy on Dallas
- Says Seattle didn't commit to Lewis
- Thinks Lewis will "look better" on Dallas
- Thinks Lewis will have a hard time in Seattle after GP leaves, KG comparison
- Talks about Dee Kantner
- Bad refs were used in Game 6 in the LA/Sac series
- NBA blocked Cuban's attempt to collect data on the refs
- Talks about baseball
