I think the Bengals did it with Boomer Esiason. I could be mistaken though.
If they run that offense, it would free up the receivers more, but it requires protection. A couple of quick blitzes and the Boys would have to punt.

I really like what Zach Thomas has brought so far.

Portis has quite the burst of speed...
FIN, definitely agree on Thomas.
Bayliss, wow, you're really going into the history books with that one.

This is deflating to allow them to score after you just tied the game.

I'd say Thomas sniffs out roughly 95 percent of the opposing offenses rushing attack. And to here Romo tell it, he also does a pretty good job on pass coverage.

They should just bench Newman when the Redskins are close to the end zone.
Unbelievable.

This game is quickly becoming another one of those Cowboys shootouts.. I think that bodes well for the Boys.

Is Dallas going to call a running play?

Are we really going totally forget about the running game?

Gotta give Witten and Romo props for turning that into a 7 yard gain.

I think they do forget about Barber/Jones sometimes. You have to control the game and controlling the clock is part of that. Controlling turnovers/takeaways is another way.

No kidding. And you don't have to run your offense through the guy, but is too much to ask to get the ball to a playmaker like Felix once or twice? Maybe I've missed it, but I think I've seen him in on offense for one play.

It would be nice for our defense to get an interception of our own. I'm not being unreasonable to ask for one interception every four games, am I?

How come this defense is so incapable of ever creating a turnover?

Dallas's defense just isn't good enough. And Dallas's offense gets too cute for their own good.
It isn't a good combination to win a Super Bowl. At the end of the day, what does Dallas hang their hat on? Their offense? If so then Romo can't f up once or twice a game and give points away. It damn sure isn't their defense.

Well as bad as we have played, we are still a touchdown away from taking the lead. For some crazy reason, that often seems to bode well for the team in our position in the NFL. Our offense needs to turn it on though.

but we need to cause more turnovers.

I'm with you on that part. It's ridiculous that we still haven't had an interception as we are nearing the end of our fourth game.

But Romo gae the Eagles 14 points in that game. He gave the Packers (I think) 10 points. He gave the Redskins 3. He caused the Boys to lose against Seattle two years ago. He was a major reason why they lost against the Giants.
He is good, but he still makes too many dumb mistakes. And in the regular season it won't matter as much. When the playoffs hit, that one interception, or one fumble will matter.

And once again they don't run it.
3 straight passes... and a punt.

Barber may not have a great rusghing average today but less than 10 carries is not acceptable for a featured back. A featured back should be getting around 20 carries minimum. The only exception is if you are being blown out and have to pass. That isn't the case today.

He didn't "give" all of those points away to the other team. Unless the other team scored "on" that turnover before the defense got back to the field, our defense shares in the responsibility for some of those points.

Defense bevomes worse when you have to stay on the field most of the game. And part of that falls on the offense. You have to allow them to rest by maintaining the clock on offense. And running the football helps to control the clock.

How can Troy say that this is one of the best defenses with a straight face when we are getting shredded for 369 yards by an average offense two weeks after getting torched by Philly for 37 points?

Time is going to run out on the unless they get a takeaway.
Two scores will be too much considering how much will have to go right to get them.

Must be a few Redskins fans at the game. I was surprised to hear some vocal cheering on that first down call for the Skins.
