Dirk Nowitzki says he'd take a pay cut to help Dallas Mavericks in 2010 free-agent market 2:59 PM CT
03:35 PM CST on Monday, December 22, 2008
By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News
esefko@dallasnews.com
Dirk Nowitzki is keeping all his options open for his future, including the possibility of taking less money in 2010 to facilitate the Mavericks acquiring a marquee player or players in that summer's bountiful free-agent market.
While adamant that he will not allow himself or the Mavericks to give up on the next two seasons, Nowitzki said he's aware of how brim-full the free-agent pool will be in 2010.

This franchise will probably go quite a long time before finding another player of Dirk's caliber. However, I contend that they will never, ever find another player of Dirk's caliber as a player AND as a person. He's spoiling us.

ya dude, dirk is the man for real....
imagine a bosh/dirk combo dude. Seriously though, players are falling under the radar. Everyone is worried about Lebron/Wade. You still have Melo, Bosh, Amare. Many other 2nd tier superstars/all-stars man. I can't wait. I still think we can pull off some magic this year for a trade... That or our coach will get them fired up. I still believe Green should be our starting SG. He plays with so much passion and energy.

Right now Dirk>than Mavs. We have not been able to finish this team around him, but there has to be a way. 2010 the answer? He is willing to make it happen. We just need to find a way.

Since I received negative rep for this post from someone who will remain unnamed, allow me to clarify: I WAS BEING SARCASTIC.
That is all.

I don't know if they would take Dirk for Pavel. You may have to throw in a sweetener. Maybe a Howard as well.

Is the poster that gave you this an obvious Dirk fan( =( )?
edit: And I have to spread my rep love before I can counteract that egregious act.

Appreciate the sentiment U2. Looks like several other folks took care of it for you.

If I were you, I would name him.
You'd have to be pretty obtuse and ignorant to not figure out your post was sarcastic. And if they were giving you negative rep because they don't like sarcasm, well then this isn't really the place for them, is it? Either way it's just flat out stupid.

Absolute truth. I'm only refraining from naming this person because I think he is about 14.
