CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Joe Thornton is enjoying life on the road.

Thornton assisted on goals by Glen Murray, Bryan Berard and Jonathan Girard for his second three-point game in as many nights as the Boston Bruins skated to a 3-3 Thursday night with the Calgary Flames.

``He had three assists and probably could have had five more,'' Bruins coach Robbie Ftorek said.

However, it was not Thornton's playmaking nor the repeated acrobatic stops by Steve Shields off Calgary's Jarome Iginla that caused the biggest stir.

A streaker scaled the glass near the penalty box during a stoppage in play with just over five minutes to play and went onto the ice.

Wearing only a pair of red socks, he slipped when his feet touched down and he landed hard on his back. He was apparently knocked unconscious when he banged his head on the ice and was motionless on his back beside the boards.

After a delay of six minutes, he was removed on a stretcher to a loud ovation from the crowd of 15,346. Having regained consciousness, he pumped his hands in the air, further delighting the other fans.

Thornton was fairly confident that the fan was not rooting for the Bruins.

``He had red socks on. You guys can have him,'' he said.

Calgary tied it 3-3 with 19 seconds left in the second period on a strange play.

Stephane Yelle forced Bruins defenseman Hal Gill off the puck along the side boards and the puck squirted out to Chris Clark, whose centering pass ricocheted off the leg of defenseman Jonathan Girard and slipped through Shields' pads.

``It wasn't pretty, that's for sure,'' Flames coach Greg Gilbert said. ``We're happy to get the point. We battled back after falling behind, but we created our own problems at times.''

Tony Lydman and Chuck Kobasew also scored for Calgary, winless in three home games this season.

Glen Murray, Bryan Berard, and Jonathan Girard scored for Boston. The Bruins, unbeaten in three games, have two contests left on their season-opening six-game road trip.

The Bruins beat Vancouver 6-3 Wednesday night.

``Coming off back-to-back games, it's nice to get a tie here in Calgary,'' Thornton said.

Calgary outshot Boston 8-2 in the third period but couldn't snap the tie.

The Flames weren't any luckier in overtime as Iginla had several close-in chances only to be foiled again by Shields.

``Jarome's a strong player and he's going to get his opportunities no matter who he's out there against so you just have to be aware of him,'' said Shields, who finished with 24 saves in his first start of the season.

With Boston trailing 2-1, Girard's first goal of the season at 5:19 of the second pulled the Bruins even.

As Murray cut in off the right wing, his centering pass appeared to be smothered by Flames goalie Roman Turek. But to the surprise of Turek and the Flames defense, the puck was loose as Girard raced in and poked it into the net.

Berard then fired in Sergei Samsonov's rebound at 16:25.

With the score 1-1 after one period, Kobasew gave the Flames their firstlead at 1:29 of the second.

Notes

Rookie Calgary D Jordan Leopold has recovered fully from the concussion sustained in the preseason. He didn't play against the Bruins for conditioning reasons. ... Calgary C Rob Niedermayer was a healthy scratch for the second straight game. ... Boston LW Rob Zamuner returned to the lineup after missing a game Wednesday in Vancouver to be with his wife for the birth of their secondchild.
