The Rockets played the Pistons, whom were on the second night of a back to back, tonight in Houston. The Pistons took them to two overtimes, does that mean the bad game doesn't mean as much to the Rockettes because they are on top of the mountain? That's an odd way of looking at it. Also, we can all agree that Houston is a damn good defensive team... yet with their two stalwarts at their defensive wing positions they still allowed Aaron Affalo to score a career high of 19 points (his career average heading into tonight was 3.9 points).
I'm just saying, anything can happen. And all of this negativity towards the Mavericks and what they can't do, it's happening all around the league with other teams too.

aaron afflalo only scored 19 points because he's getting the touches that would normally go to allen iverson or rip hamilton. both of them didn't play due to injuries.
you can point out that afflalo scored 19 points when he averages 3.9 per game but also note that he played 45 minutes when he averages 15.3 minutes per game.

Saying Houston or NO is on top of the mountain is quite a statement. It's one I don't agree with it at all, especially Houston. When they get out of the first round and do something, then maybe we can talk...
At least NO can say they've made a dent in the playoffs, not made a #2.
Neither team is on top of the mountain. The Lakers and Spurs can say that, everyone else is up for debate on how they'll do, it's matchups.

I'm only talking about seeding for this regular season.

That's fine but considering where both of them are at and where they could easily end up being...it's not like they're in a position of dominance.

Dammit Portland. I actually wanted Portland to win this game. My hatred for Lebron and the Cavs grows deep. I don't care if it prevents Dallas from gaining a higher seed. The Mavs had opportunities to control their destiny by winning games they're supposed to, but no. So we just sit there and hope other teams lose to help us? wtf?

Yes, they are our only reasonable hope to save us from another Spurs title or another David Stern Finals. (Where's that pic of happy Stern hoarding that pile of money?)

But it's not Dallas... and this time around, a Lebron title/finals is a David Stern title/finals.
I'm enjoying that Kidd sig

Barbosa out 1-3 weeks
Tough stretch coming up for the Suns without Barbosa. Wizards, Nuggets, Jazz, @Blazers, and @Jazz. Looks like the earliest he will be back is for the Blazers game.. I don't see how the Suns can be competitive without him. Imo, if they go 2-3 through this stretch then their season is over.
Suns' Barbosa Will Miss 1 To 3 Weeks
Mar 20, 2009 10:00 AM EST
Phoenix guard Leandro Barbosa will miss one to three weeks after suffering a bone contusion in his left knee during Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.
An MRI on Thursday confirmed the contusion, according to the team's athletic trainer.
"Anything that will cause the bone to get more action could cause more pain," trainer Aaron Nelson said. "We've got to let that calm down."
He could return as soon as next Thursday against Portland, but if he misses three weeks he'll return with just a few games left in the regular season.

Finley (2 missed ft's) and Parker (4 missed ft's) choke at the line in the clutch.
Boston wins.

Wow... Spurs missing six free throws in a row within the last two minutes of the game to lose 80-77 at home against the Celtics. Bitter pill for them.

Big game between the two on Sunday. The Spurs just beat them in Houston a few days ago but we'll see what happens in SA.
Most Spurs fans are ready to jump off the cliff. They played pretty good defense so Pop will be happy I think. The missed ft's for Finley and Parker are more fluke than habit for them so I'm sure it will be brushed off. Disappointing for sure but nothing to worry about.

we are closer to what alby wants, a 7/2 matchup with the Suckston Rockettes.
Houston is 1/2 game out of 2nd and Dallas is 1 1/2 game out of 7th.

Why does it seem to me that our competition has been playing the dregs of the league lately? Only... it just seems like every game the Suns, Blazers, Jazz, Hornets, Rockets, etc play are the Wizards, Wolves, Bucks, Thunders, Grizzlies, and Kings of the league. Can someone please allow me to be lazy and post the remaining games for all of our competition on here? That would be great. Thanks.

Who do we cheer for when the Suns play other playoff teams.
If the Suns lose it'll assure us playoffs but decrease odds of climbing up.
If opponents lose it gives us a shot at moving up.
Interesting indeed. . I hope the Suns lose to a few scrub teams but steal a few from the teams ahead of us.
I also hope the Spurs beat the teams 3-7 because I think the Spurs are locked for a 2 seed anyway.
Interesting to see what the Lakers do toward the end of the season if the Cavs have secured home court. Rest the final 2-3 games? They play Jazz and BLazers in that stretch.
Interesting indeed!

How do the Spurs have the 2 seed locked up? They're only a half game ahead of the Rockets and they're playing the Rockets tomorrow.

I thought about this for a second...and then I remembered half of the west is our competition. There is no way I'm THAT lazy/bored to go put that up here for the rest of the year.
