Official GDT: Warriors @ Mavs - 03/25/09 - 7:30pm CST
Golden State Warriors @ Dallas Mavericks
Putting my 5-1 record on the line against the hated, Golden State Warriors.
Monta is back, healthy, and is playing with the explosiveness that makes him so special again.
Stephen Jackson is playing well.
Biedrins is still out, but they beat us in Oakland last week when he went down in the first quarter.
Is Jamal Crawford playing?
Can anyone stop Maggette in the post?
Nellie is playing their young guys, Wright/Randolph/Watson/Morrow are all very talented and can all light it up.
107 - Golden State Warriors
116 - Dallas Mavericks

Warriors swingman Stephen Jackson will not play on Saturday because of pain in his left big toe, and he might be done for the season.
Jackson's toe has been bothering him since the 2007 playoffs, when an MRI revealed a fracture (the diagnosis was soon changed to turf toe). "I've learned how to somewhat block it out," Jackson said. "I wanted to wait until the end of the season, but everybody is noticing it's getting worse." He will be examined by the Rockets' team doctor on Friday, at which point we should have some definitive information -- if he is done for the season, Anthony Morrow and Anthony Randolph should be the main beneficiaries.

I must admit, my GDT mojo is some pretty good stuff haha =] Last time I made a GDT, I got Rip and Sheed injured right before our game against Detroit in addition to Iverson already being out.

Last three times these assclowns were in our building, we blew them out by 22, 25, and 24 points respectively. Do you really think this will be just a nine point game?

Warriors are on b-t-b while we played our last game on friday...Jackson has played vs SAS. SAS have done a lot of work to beat Warriors....
Tonight could be a difficult game, we suffer Warriors and their way to play.

We're beyond the point where we can brush off losses.
We need the beat EVERY single team we're supposed to beat.
Warriors are 6-29 on the road and are on a back to back, if that's not a team we're supposed to beat, I don't know what is

Every time we say the Mavs are supposed to blow out a team, they either win a highly contested game (1-2 points) or get blown out ourselves...

Yeah, I don't know why we insist on tempting fate like that.
However, as long as we play with enough energy and hustle to keep up with these guys, and we don't make stupid TO's, we should be ok.

Well that's awful nice of the Rocket's team doctor, but don't the Warriors have their own?

This is a game we really can't afford to lose. We can't get tempted to play their style and just forget about defense. I think the fact it'll be a home game will help keep our guys a little more focused as well.
After a long stretch, it'll be good to see them back in action. Hopefully they finish this stretch run with some momentum.

This game should be over by the half. Warriors are playing better and Nelson is doing a nice job of getting the young guys playing time and experience but that won't beat Dallas.
Not only is Jackson likely out Turiaf is playing on a bum knee. He's trying to play through it but it's clearly effected his game.

The Warrior's seems to have our number and the recipe to cook our asses. But count me in, Mavs win by 12.

"I don't care if we're last in the league, I'm going to play every game like it's the NBA finals. And I can speak for my teammates that they will do the same...The biggest thing for us is to finish the season as positive as we can."
That is a quote from the Warriors' Stephen Jackson that I posted in a news blurb on March 8. Unfortunately for Captain Jack's owners, it sounds like he's had a change of heart due to an injury to his big left toe that has seemingly been there forever. He says he's going to play on Wednesday against the Mavericks, but has reportedly been ruled out for Saturday's game at Denver. He's scheduled to be examined by a doctor in Houston on Friday and could then very well be shut down for the season.
"I've learned how to somewhat block it out," Jackson said. "I wanted to wait until the end of the season, but everybody is noticing it's getting worse."
Interesting quote, don't you think? Nothing about him wanting to shut it down, but instead "everybody" is telling him that he doesn't look right and should probably call it a season. Something is a little strange here, but it really doesn't matter why he might be closing up the shop. We should know by Sunday what his status is going forward, but the vibe of this story suggests that Wednesday will likely be his last game of the season. Logic would dictate that guys like Anthony Morrow, Kelenna Azubuike and Corey Maggette will have added value in his absence, but only Nellie knows the answer to that question.

Maybe Damp tonight?
http://mavsblog.dallasnews.com/archi...r-tonight.html
Quote:
Erick Dampier said this morning that the swelling has gone down in his left knee and he's giving himself at least a chance of playing tonight against Golden State. "It's possible I could go,'' he said. "But we'll have to see later on.''
He's officially a game-time decision and Dampier said he still has no pain and that there is nothing structurally wrong with the knee. It's just a little sore and tight, and that has improved with the last week off.
If Dampier can play, he'll probably start. If not, Ryan Hollins will get the call again.
Meanwhile, Josh Howard remains doubtful. He's expected to go through Thursday's practice and see how his left ankle responds.
As for coming off a four-day break in the schedule, Carlisle said he has no trepidation about how his team will play as games resume.
"It didn't seem that long to me,'' Carlisle said. "It came at a good time. We got the appropriate rest and work. We're looking forward to getting back out there. Do I have trepidation? No.
"You always have concerns about this or that or the opponent. But our guys know what's at stake and they're enthusiastic about getting back on the court.''

Darn NBATV. I have to have the Warrior feed tonight. I like Jim Barnett. I really do. But ever since the Golden State playoffs and seeing Stephen Jackson, I just can't stand listening to anything Golden State related.
(Personally I think Barnett is the best color commentator in the whole league.)
