I had them going 1-5 in their final six. They're bad on the road and they're not facing lightweights to finish out the road part of their schedule.

I was thinking of this as well. Of their 6 remaining games, Utah will have to play on the ROAD against NO, Dallas, SA and Lakers. That's a difficult task. Specially so since they don't play well on the road. The 2 games they have at home are against the Warriors and the Clippers. I surmise they would win their home games easily...
But then again, tonight (Wolves beating Utah at Utah) proves that nothing is impossible.

Wow...GS only played 7 guys!
NO was kind of due to lose one of these games.
They got a buzzer beater in Sacramento and had to play to the end vs the Clippers. They were playing against fire for too long.
So obviously the best case scenario would've been those results in Utah and Oakland and Dallas winning...unfortunately, we have to take the 2nd best scenario.
We didn't lose any ground though and that's big.

Yup. They've had "lucky" wins. Finally caught up with them.

GS only has 7 players to play because of all the injuries. And they look good which should be impossible but they play hard.
It'll be interesting to see how they draft and retool in the summer. If they're healthy I can see them making the playoffs again.

And it speaks of how important that Memphis game truly was. You couldn't expect the Jazz to lose all thos road games. The Mavs needed to take care of business.

The Utah-NO game is far from over. It's only a 14-point game with over a quarter left.

They were up by 27 at the half. Utah is doing everything they can to lose.
Let's see if New Orleans has the reserves in the tank to pull it out.
Btw, I wonder if if Posey and Chandler will play against the Mavs.

And now with New Orleans losing, the Utah game doesn't matter that much per se. The Mavs have to win both games against New Orleans. That will be a difficult task.

And the Lakers play the Jazz in the very last game. They will essentially set the standings with that game. Phil Jackson can choose which team he would rather play. And I think he would rather play the Mavs.

We all know how well that thought process worked out for the Mavs in 07.

The difference is the Lakers haven't had trouble with the Mavs like the Mavs had trouble with the Warriors.

Things would've been A LOT easier if we didn't lose to the darn GRizzlies!
This thing between the Hornets/Mavs/Jazz will likely come down to 1-2 games, and if we finish 8th we'll be thinking about all those duds we laid against the very worst of the league (Clippers, Thunder, Grizz twice, Kings).

I'd say you're not going out on much of a limb there at this point, but yeah.

Was he going to pick up some hooker? Either way, I'd be willing to look like a ninja turtle my whole life if it meant I could own a white rolls-royce.

Breaking News out of SA. Ginobli is done for the season and playoffs.
http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblog...he-season.html
The Spurs announced today that Manu Ginobili will miss the rest of the season, including the 2009 playoffs.
Ginobili underwent a CT scan and an MRI today. The diagnosis was an "increased marrow edema and a stress fracture in his right distal fibula."

Spurs are going to finish 3rd or worst, there's no way Dallas can play them in the first round IMHO.

You're kidding right? N.O. has to be the luckiest team ever. Wade goes 1 of 2 at the line and Butler hits a three with .1 sec. left to send it to O.T. Again.

I'm getting sick of the Hornets. They're such a lucky ass team! They "should" be in 8th right now.
