K-Mart made that awfully (beep) clear during a first-half break, per NBA.com's Art Garcia.
"You [expletive] better cut the [expletive]," he shouted, as team personnel tried to pull him back to the huddle. "You're going to get [expletive] up."
Martin then said to his mother: "Somebody do something to you, you better tell me. I'm going to [expletive] somebody up."

Just stock answers about how Carmelo and Dirk played well. His voice was really soft the whole time. Then a reporter asked him if he was really "disappointed" to lose tonight or they're excited to have a chance to close it out at home. He said they weren't disappointed b/c the Mavs are one of the 4 best teams in the west during the last six weeks.
Upon that last question, he could barely get the words out, had to look down at the podium, and his voice cracked a couple times. The entire time, his eyes were wet (like he had been crying previously, but wasn't anymore).

This. His answers were mostly stock presser answers. But the way he said everything and his general demeanor was really unsettling.

If the Nuggets didn't have Chauncey, I would put big money on them laying a huge egg in Game 5. The other personalities, including their coach, are too volatile and generally front-runners.
With Chauncey, though, I think these guys are going to fight big time.

Seemed like the same George Karl i've seen all series long. Gave the Mavs their due as well as Carmelo and kept it moving. I didn't see any tears or anything like that. I may have missed them but I didn't think of anything out of the ordinary.

Like LDub said...Chauncey does give you reason to be concerned but you had just as much reasoning to be concerned tonight, especially in the 4th. He looked like he had a stretch where he was ready to take over, but then Melo took over.

No, there was definitely something off about this. I'm not imagining it, I promise. I'm familiar with his general personality, but this was just a really odd sequence.

I watched the presser, but not near as closely, evidently. I highly doubt that Karl felt any emotions that would drive a man to tears.

Just went back and watched it. That was really bizarre. Maybe he found out that the league has mandated that the series will go 7.

When they showed K-Mart's mom as he fouled out I'm PREEEETY sure she said:
"That's ok honey, I'm proud of you. You got Dirk'ed but that's ok baby!!!"

Oh give me a break. I saw the video of Cuban talking to his mom. He barely even interacted with her, and apparently all he said was that Martin was a thug.
So what? Is Cuban a classless child? Yes. Does Martin have any reason to be upset? Not really. He should be more upset at the fact that he is getting abused by Dirk.

I don't understand the Cuban and Kmart's mom incident. Didn't she criticize the thuggets saying they were a team of thugs? Cuban points out her son is on that team and calls him a punk right? Am I getting this right?

Maybe I just don't see it. I only saw the small portion TNT showed so maybe you saw a longer presser than what I saw but I didn't see any tears or anything like that. Honestly I was more shocked he started off giving Melo credit lol. That's the only thing that shocked me. How he kept going on about Melo. A coach doesn't usually do that in defeat.

You guys are all wrong. K-mart is going to shut down Dirk in this series. He did it to David West.

He did but he would've faced my wrath for taking that jump shot early in a possession late in the 4th when it was clear that it was all dirk, all the time.

I'm sure that's right, but it's still weird how he acted (even if it has no effect on anything).

I was referring to the fans throwing beers at K-Mart's mom and girlfriend. I don't know the situation that happened the other day and I won't pretend to.

Throwing anything at any fan is completely uncalled for and potentially dangerous.

great win
I'm obviously disappointed that this isn't 2-2 but honestly, is there any more shame in winning 4-3 than 4-2?

Wow, Dirk was unbelievable! There seemed to be some very dubious calls against us but we still won, mostly thanks to him.
J-Ho gave a great effort of playing through the pain and made his case to remain a Maverick. Both, with his game and in the postgame-interview as well. Right now, I'd be fine with that.
7.30am in Germany now, time to catch some hours of sleep. I'm just glad I witnessed this game and will press a smile in the pillow. Good night to all!
