Who to root for tonight?
Go Knicks!
Go Pacers!
Go.... Lakers! Avoiding #3 is key in a three-headed monster conference so I'm more concerned with burying one of these two. I think the Lakers are probably better positioned to play that role. I feel pretty good about getting the win for #1 at the end of the season vs. the Spurs.

I don't like the Heat but I don't mind the Knicks getting a major wake up call.

Seriously, there is no reason for Amare to even be in the MVP discussion right now with how Dirk, Rose, Lebron, and Howard have played this year

I don't like how we match up with the Lakers still, Dirk will have trouble with Pau and Lamar. We match up a lot better with SA, and SA matches up a lot better with the Lakers
So I hope the seeding goes like this
1. Dallas
2. SA
3. LA

Stop right there...
We haven't played the Lakers this season.

The Mavericks will then challenge the NBA office and say they would like to defer home-court advantage until a later date.

Maybe so, maybe not. Looks like a bet should be placed? Is their a Las Vegas line about upcoming MVPs?

He'll definitely be an MVP level talent. The problem is that you'd be betting on the Clippers eventually becoming a top 2 or 3 team in the conference. It could happen but I wouldn't wager anything on it.

The Lakers have two huge holes in their starting line up in Fisher and Artest. Both of those guys made huge shots in the playoffs last year and maybe they'll do it again but night in and night out they bring very little to the table.
In other news it's getting sad watching Nash rot away in PHX. He goes for 20 and 12 tonight without missing a shot and they still lose to the Kings. He has to be kicking himself for signing that extension but he should have know better given Sarver's history.

I dunno if anyone is watching Spurs-Knicks, but Pop just completely emptied his bench down only 10 with over 3 minutes left. Never seen anything quite like that. The players look pissed.
They play @Boston tomorrow I think, but still. This is D'Antoni. His team can give up 10 in a minute.

Spurs are going to hit a skid soon, Pop knows it too with there mediocre defense. Both San Antonio and Dallas have fairly easy schedules this month

Pop has done this for a while from what I can recall. He's pretty quick to decide that tommorrow is another day. A great coach for a long marathon nba season.

He's certainly possessed that sort of attitude for as long as we can all remember, but I've watched a LOT of Spurs games over the past 8 years and I've never seen him do anything quite like that. Afterward, he alluded that he did it not just because they have a game tonight, but because he was incredibly frustrated with the starters giving the Spurs worst defensive performance since 1993.

So Rondo commits an offensive foul and the Boston TV guy says "That's the first foul on him, second team foul in the quarter."
Does he not know that offensive fouls don't count as team fouls?
Edit: He later made the distinction between "fouls called" and "team fouls". Apparently he misspoke.

that's going to be funny going forward. He's started this offensive juggernaut and he must think he can reign it in. He might, I wouldn't put anything past his abilities..
I would imagine he was also wanting to get their attention for boston...this allowed him to do it publicly but NOT publicly. Donn Nelson would have spouted off with a beer in his hand, pops pulls it on the court.
