Magic Johnson Shares 'Thoughts' On Lakers-Celtics Finals
BOSTON—Appearing on ESPN's SportsCenter Wednesday, former Lakers point guard Magic Johnson provided his "thoughts," "insights," and "analysis" of the NBA Finals matchup between the Lakers and the Celtics, assuring viewers that the series will hinge on "whoever team does its things better more." "I think this, I think, this is really going to come down to basically overall game play and which team can win four or five games, and do it first," said the three-time NBA MVP, adding that scoring could also be as much of a major factor on the outcome as total points. "There's also a possible definite possibility of matchups occurring. Could happen, yeah. And we can't overlook the influence that—that that effect or effects, might have on something." When pressed by SportsCenter anchor Rece Davis as to which team was favored, Johnson responded by saying "the one that's going to win...Win the NBA championship."

This reminds me of Barkley saying something once along the lines of "You know he's going to play great basketball because... he's a great basketball player."

Honestly, who gives a rats ass what Magic Johnson has to say about the Mavericks? Isn't this the same guy who said that Dirk should've hit David West in the post season last year? That statement alone proves that Johnson is an idiot without a clue.

I have to call BS on his (and many other people's) comments relating to Houston. People every year for many years expect them to do really well, but they never really perform in the playoffs. Why? Tracy McGrady is super over rated. He's very physically talented, but he's not a smart player - especially in crunch time. He's almost as bad as his retarded cousin Vince Carter - the King of poor shot selection. Tracy takes so many contested long two pointers. Again, especially in crunch time. Yes, sometimes he gets hot and they all fall in, but that's rare and it only makes him shoot more stupid shots.
The Pundits are not smart to keep predicting Houston to break through, but pick the Mavs to fail again. The Mavs have actually had success in the post-season. Also, and this is key, Dirk is not retarded like McGrady. In fact, Dirk is very smart and has proven himself to usually be awesome in crunch time. Mathematically, Dirk >>>>> McGrady.
People will be suprised again at how Houston has a solid regular season and then fails to beat a good team in the first round.
On the flip side, I'm happy to see the Mavs have low expectations.

This is one of those articles that everybody should hang up in the back of their lockers and look at each day before and after practice.
Granted.. some players should have more than just this hanging in the back of their locker.
