Also, what happened to AL Farouq Aminu? I think he's still available and better than Pinson, Lawson, and Frank.

If I?m the Mavs I take a hard look at bringing in Kris Dunn. He?s always been a fantastic defender and has spent time in the G league honing his jumper and getting healthy. He definitely looks like an NBA player to me.

Moses Brown maxed out his NBA games on two-way
He?s ours if we want him back
Yes that?s how sad our situation is

Kidd won't play him. Kidd is the problem when it comes to bigs.
Love to have him because he is actually semi-decent.

Mavs should just bring back Saleh Mejri who's now a UFC fighter. (or something along those lines) He could be the enforcer that this team direly needs!

At the ASB (last year)
30th - Total rebounds (24th last year)
30th - rebound % (16th last year)
8th - offensive rating (5th last year)
24th in defensive rating (7th last year)
Record after 60 games
This year - 31-29 (.516)
Last year 35-25 (.583)
Looks like Kidd has us playing worse by every metric

Maxi is not going to solve all of our issues but he is going to tighten us up a bit defensively. No idea how long it takes him to round back into form but adding him will be better than anyone we could sign off buyouts.
The team isn't going to have practice time before we crank back up but we need to grind on some actual plays that we've had success with. Luka and Kyrie need some go-to action that they can lean on to get better looks before we are reduced to 1v1 late shot clock.
We have to keep guards from blowing by us and I'm not sure it's possible with Luka out top. There's too many easy buckets for teams and even with rim protection, the composing big can slide over for put backs or easy rebounds. I'm beyond sick of watching possessions end with bigs getting offensive rebounds and scoring at the rim or kicking it out for open looks. Our bigs have to chase guards into the paint and then they over extend themselves dgoing for blocks leaving Offensive rebounds.
We HAVE to use Javale more and tell his ass to stay home and not completely sell out for blocks.

A Chicago NBC sports guy, K.C. Johnson, thinks Dragic may get bought out. Doubt the Mavs would be interested, but they should be..I still think his presence on the team would help Luka. For example, he would likely be a calming influence that might help reduce the number of technical fouls Doncic accumulates over the next 20+ games. Mavs cannot afford to have Luka suspended with every game being important. Mavs have three guys (maybe more) just taking up space: Lawson, Pinson, and Frank. They have little or no value (I take that back Pinson is a great cheerleader) so its time to move on. I also think adding Dieng or Faried makes more sense than hanging on to any in this threesome. I cannot imagine any of those three (Lawson, Pinson, Frank) being in the long-term plans of the Mavs so its time to make any move you can to improve the roster for the playoffs (assuming they make the playoffs).
If the Bulls don?t add Russell Westbrook, John Wall and Patrick Beverley are names to keep in mind. The Bulls will need to waive a player to create a roster spot, and their current focus calls into question the future of Goran Dragic.

Interest that Faried?s name get tossed around here so much, but I haven?t seen his name mentioned anywhere else. Is he even looking to make a comeback? Is he playing overseas somewhere? I understand this team badly needs rebounding, but I?m not so sure a guy who has been out of the league for several years is the answer.

Our FTs may be TOO good with Kyrie. We may need Goran to bring them back up.
Kidding! He doesn't have too much in the tank, but neither did Boban and I loved him here because it made Luka happy.
Honestly can't be worse than watching Kidd force Luka to be the off-guard and then playing FRANK as our PG.

What's up with Whiteside?
Is he that washed up?
Only 33 and would seem to help solve some of our problems.

Horrible defender, but I'm down for any big man help.
Is Kidd?

The Frank experience has ran its course with every sane fan. Dragic would be better.

Mavs can only promise Dragic a role behind Mckinley Wright.

Leonard wasnt great honestly. He was a borderline NBA talent and then had major nerve damage in his foot. He claimed it was his anti-semitic remark that ended his career, but it was a combination of talent/injury.
I wish him well, but he's not a great talent that the Mavs missed out on. I would honesly prefer Moses Brown back and he's still available AFAIK.

Tim MacMahon reported that his understanding of the situation was Mavs coach Jason Kidd being a key catalyst in the team not signing Dragic. Kidd doesn't believe Dragic "has any juice left."
"My understanding is that J-Kidd doesn't think Dragic has any juice left, so the Mavs basically asked him to be a foot shorter version of Boban and sit at the end of the bench all season," Tim MacMahon said. "He said hell no."
(This is from Sept by the way)
this is hilarious to me that Kidd would have that much impact on a player acquisition. hes not bright.

Then why did they even offer anything? That's the maddening part.
I wonder if this stems from some sort of petty rivalry when the Lakers played the Heat in the finals.

So Dragic has "no juice left" but Frank is a keeper. Got it!

Magic are releasing RJ Hampton. I haven?t watched the Magic at all, but he was a former lottery pick from a few years ago. Athletic as hell, and he?s a local kid from Little Elm I believe. I always like to kick the tires on former lottery picks to see if a change of scenery does them any good.
Edit: Hampton wasn?t a lottery pick, but was taken in the first round. Looks like he is signing with the Pistons.

Kidd is a moron.
He got a reputation for smart as a player, but as a coach, he's continued to show time after time that he is the dumbest non-player guy on payroll for either team

Keneth Faried? Lol. If JKidd thinks Goran is washed, he has to think Faried is already in the grave.

He rebounds which is something 97% of our roster can't do.

He definitely used to as well as hustle. But he last played half a season 5 years ago. Our roster is too good for him to craxk the rotation.

Comparing career stats, Faried is better than Powell, Faried is only 2 years older than Powell

Pretty sure we were tongue in cheek about the idea. I haven't even seen where that rumor came from....something like a month ago he wanted to come back.

Sadly I think this is most likely true.
The real question is if it is, does Kyrie stay.
