RE:Utah vs. Dallas Game Thread....
1-5 isn't enough shots to determine anything. It's basically 1 made/miss from being at his average. Had he gone 3-5 would your opinion of the 6th man change?
Give it a little more time than 15 minutes and 5 shots.

Last time I checked, playing out of control and picking up offensive fouls is not acceptable. It's just as bad as throwing a bad pass or picking up some other violation

RE:Utah vs. Dallas Game Thread....
48-41, Utah leads at the half
Howard (13) 0-1, 1-2, 1pt, 1as, 2to's, 1blk
Dirk (20) 5-8, 1-4, 8-9, 19pts, 4rbs, 2as, 1to, 1stl, 2blks
Fortson (9) 0-2, 2-2, 2pts, 5rbs, 1to
Finley (18) 2-7, 2-4, 6pts, 2rbs, 1as, 1blk
Nash (17) 2-4, 4pts, 2rbs, 6as, 2to's
Bradley (6) 1-1, 1-2, 3pts
Jamison (15) 1-6, 0-1, 2pts, 4rbs, 3to's, 1stl
Best (9) 1rb, 1as, 2to's, 1stl
Najera (13) 1-3, 2-4, 4pts, 3rbs, 2stls
It's good to see Dirk taking care of business, but it's a bit concerning that everyone else is providing nothing. Throw in Walker and we just might have a problem on our hands.

Just to make things clear, I am NOT knee jerking. I merely concured with that guy and said however it probably is just an off night. Of course it is merely fact that Jamison would post better stats starting. I attribute this to a off-night and am not off board him coming off the bench.

Of course I'm joking since it's been one half of one preseason game. It will be something to track though.

Last I checked it was a rook and a guy who lost some of his PT yesterday that committed those fouls. I'm not saying it's a good thing or excusing it, just pointing out that only about half our TO's at that time were the result of bad passing or careless ball handling.

J-Ho is off tonight, Jamison looks horrible, hope its not b/c he's coming off the bench. Fort is rebounding great, just needs to put in a lay-up and stop fouling. Mike looks off. Nash is playing well, needs to get under more control. Best looks off. Eddie is killing us on defensive, he does not box out and gives up way too many offensive rebounds.

Are you watching the game? How can you tell Najera is killing us defensively. Actually, I can't ever remember him killing us defensively. Offensively..yes, defensively... I haven't seen it.

Jamison didn't come off the bench against San Antonio did he? Because he was only 4 of 12 against them for 9 points.

Najera has always been good at getting into the passing lanes and drawing charges. But, everything else on defense, he's either average or well below average. He's a horrific defensive rebounder and he's not a good man-to-man defender. He has difficulty figuring out when to double down on a player and when not to. He has the tendancy to lose his man down low. On the perimeter, he's too slow to guard most 3's.

You said taking care of the ball. To me that's not making bad passes and not being sloppy with your ball handling. You mean it more generically as TO's, fair enough.
Edit: and as you so astutely pointed out by quoting me, I did say it.

i think it's safe to assume that committing offensive fouls while handling the ball classifies as not taking care of the ball

Are you and Murph the same person? I think the word "horrific" is a little strong. Najera is very good defensively and only struggled last year when he was injured. If you are listening to the game on the radio(as I am) you can not tell whether Najera is killing us on the defensive end.

LMAO. It is a STATISTICAL FACT that eddie is a putrid defensive rebounder, if you can't tell by watching, just look it up. There are a lot of guards who avg. more drpg then eddie.

Funny how in your quote of me you left out the SMILEY ICON which I clearly had. But I guess that was on accident, right? And at the time he had shot and missed on three straight possesions while mike had one shot and dirk had yet to take one in the 2nd half.

Jamison, Fin and Howard are a combined 5-19. Ugggh.
Dirk and Nash are a combined 7-11.
For a team that is all offense... we sure are stinking up the joint tonight. Someone needs to make some shots.
