Yes
I love the pick of Green
It was him or Bane that I was hoping for.
Finally a wing with some size who can play D.

I'm not pretending anything. That isn't a good 3 point percentage for college anymore.

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that Green develops. He has a great pedigree, high intangibles, and is obviously really young. Godspeed young man.

The only defense I have about taking Green over Bey is that Green is more athletic and has a slightly higher ceiling (but a much much lower floor)

Green just turned 20 two days ago. He has plenty of room to grow and improve shooting.

Green is an elite defender with some of the highest testing metrics at the NBA Draft.
And/or I have Stockholm syndrome when it comes to the Mavs and drafting

Green’s three-point shooting improved as the season went. In Arizona’s last 15 games, Green shot 39.5% from downtown on 2.5 attempts per game compared to 33.3% on 3.0 attempts per game in his first 15 games.
Looking at Green’s advanced shooting, he ranked in the 67th percentile in spot-up shooting, and ranked in the 60th percentile on catch-and-shoot plays. One interesting detail here is that Green ranked in the 84th percentile in unguarded catch-and-shoot plays, and in the fifth percentile on guarded catch-and-shoot plays. Clearly, he has to improve shooting with a defender nearby.

Yeah as mentioned before I watched him a lot along with Nicco Mannion out here in AZ.
Dude is a legit defensive stopper
Really athletic....
Mavs have enough they are going to score the ball regardless. He really fills a glaring need on the wing and he actually has some size.
Might not be a popular pick on here because most fans love offense but it wouldn't shock me if RC falls in love with this kids defensive versatility.

Luka is going to make Green look great. We were clamoring for a stopper and we got him.

Bane shot 43% from 3. College not the same as nba and the mavs view green as a day one contributor. Not a 3 year project to get his shot up.

Stopper project maybe. I doubt he plays more than 15 minutes a game in year one.
If he is able to play the 20mpg that DFS was able to his first year he will be a great pick. If not... well I hope he improves.

Green ranked in the 82nd percentile in transition offense, shooting 61.4% from the field on those type of plays. With the speed and athleticism Green has, it’s easy to see why

Yes I know but Green is more agile and athletic able to recover defensively.
Hey look I know it's not a sexy pick and to be fair I watched more of Green than Bey since I live in AZ.
But dude is really good player and I think Mavs fans are going to love his energy and defense.

Will see if RC sees him as a day one contributor. I think by year two if he’s a part of the rotation it’s a huge win. Wouldn’t expect much in year one. He just turned 20.

I knew Mavs would never draft Maxey but man I saw a lot of him in high school.....his jumper was shockingly low in college but in the pros he's going to be a good shooter. Wouldn't have been upset at that pick.

This team could be dangerous in transition if Rick ever lets them run.

There will be a quality guy at 31 with the way this draft has gone even if it isn't Terry.
Would be cool though.

I know! This is a deep draft. They don’t have to be stars. Shamet just got traded for the 19th pick. And he was a late first rounder I remember right

From the Athletic
Josh Green, 6’6 (6’10 wingspan), 19 years old
The toolsiest 3-and-D option likely to be available at No. 18 is Green, an Arizona freshman. All three players above have proven shooting pedigrees; for Green, we’re projecting shooting excellence after he hit 36.1 percent on just under three attempts per game his one collegiate season. That’s a low number of attempts and a small sample size, which usually would scare me. It’s the shooting tools that bolster confidence: He hit 78 percent at the line, and his mechanics look sound, even showing the ability to pull-up off the dribble and otherwise hit jumpers that aren’t easy catch-and-shoots. On the other end, Green undoubtedly has the highest defensive upside of the four options listed here. He’s good on and off the ball, enough so that you even saw him guard opposing point guards while at Arizona. That lateral movement to defend across the positional spectrum is what most stands out about him. If you trust what you see from him offensively as a malleable, developable skillset – because every aspect of his offensive game needs improvement to be NBA quality – then he’s the highest upside player in this four-man pool.
